One question that would make you think....

    My Two Cents:

    Something along these lines:

What would the Organization have to do to convince you they aren't being directed by Jehovah God?

Consider it quite an accomplishment if you could just get most Witnesses to even consider this question, let alone come up with possible answers....

As I say, my two cents worth...

Thanks all - you gave me some great ideas!!

Funny how I use to cringe at the thought of "service" - now I can't wait (ha ha)

Good point JeffT, just ask them if Christ is their mediator.

You could also print off the paragraph with the generation doctrine change from Nov 1 1995 Watchtower, read it to them and ask them how they really felt when they first read it.

You could always ask them who now is the King of the North? or how long is a creative day? or which blood components can they / can't they have? why did 'righteous' man Lot have sex with both his daughters? what year was Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians? etc etc...

    Have fun!

    Wait, wait, I got it...

Ask them, with a painfully horrified look of unfathomable disbelief (like they were getting ready to clip their nose hairs with a lawnmower)....

WHY ARE YOU STILL IN THIS RELIGION??????????

Be careful, if you ask too pointed a question (or one that uses "pure language") their ears will recognize you used to be a JW.

Ask something that is public knowledge.....like someone suggested the pedophile issue. After all, Catholics and JWs are getting blasted in the news. Ask how they are different than them and should be equally sued!!! And Lady Lee had a good post about the clergy class.

They deny they have a clergy class, yet they invoke the clergy privilege so they don't have to report pedophiles!! Which is it?? Either you have a clergy or you don't!!

Ask them this "If I become a Jehovah's witness, and somewhere down the road, I decide it isn't for me, will I be able to leave? Will there be an announcement to the others, that will make them shun me?"

I like the quote from Thomas Jefferson "A person should be just as free to leave an organziation, as he is to join it."

Go to Randy's site, record some of the 1975 audio clips onto a tape cassette and present to any witness who calls.

The dodge that I intend to use to get around the "inside knowledge" thing is to say that my wife has witness relatives (true) and that this was the issue that caused us to stop studying with them (well actually it is the issue that drove us from the Watchtower). I hope it will keep them off guard.

Ask them if the Watchtower magazine is the word of God.

When they say no, then ask why people who express disagreement with it are disfellowshipped.
