A Believer, let me simplify what Outlaw is trying to teach you. He is showing you that the 'name' JEHOVAH is made up! The tetragrammaton is consonants only and the reader of scripture would add the correct vowels as he or she was reading the text. Today, no one knows exactly what the vowels should be to make up the so-called 'divine name'. The most simple, unscholarly way for me to explain this to you is as follows:
Suppose you have your own religion and your God is named BILL. In the language that you write your sacred scrolls, you only use consonants and no vowels. Since you are fully aware that your god is named BILL, each time that you see BLL written in your sacred scrolls you correctly assume that it is in reference to your god, BILL. Now, fast forward a few thousand years and someone discovers your ancient texts. They love the texts and feel that a new religion should be established on the information found in these scrolls. There is only one problem and that is, what is your Gods name on which to base your religion ? Since the vowels that constructed the name are no longer known, what vowels do you use to reconstruct the name of your most holy and divine being? A, E, I, O, U or Y? So the God who is named BILL could be incorrectly named any of the following just by adding the incorrect vowels:
BALL
BELL
BOLL
BULL
So now, the true name of your sacred God is 'lost in translation' ! Would it not be disrespectful to keep calling your God by a name that He or She did not apply to him or herself? Is it really PURE worship to call your God by a name that may or may not be correct? When people speak to you, don't you like to be addressed by your proper name? Wouldn't you get sick and tired of someone always getting your name wrong even though they were sincere in trying to communicate with you? Lots to think about.
