"Millions now dead, will never live" - oh, wait! They wouldn't give THAT talk, now would they?

Oh well. What ever they have in store, their 'announcement' is meant to 'fire up' the troops, so that they will have more people there than the few giving the presentations.

I seem to remember, as a lad, that they did this quite frequently prior to one of those 'assemblies'. <rolls eyes>

    Regards,

    1. The Watchtower could be studied at the "Book Study" instead of after the Public Talk

    2. After the Public Talk, have a meeting that combines the TMS and SM. We do this type of thing now during the visit of the CO. It works when he is in town. The information in the Isaiah Book or any new publications could very easily be included in this meeting.

    3. To keep the "three times a week format," simply call the "meeting for service" on Saturday or whenever the third congregation "meeting" each week (let's face it, it IS a meeting!)

This would free up an entire night for family activities or whatever.

    Does this make sense ???

I have a better idea......let's just not have any meetings or service at all. That makes the most sense to me......

I have a very big-shot friend on the writing committee. He told me that a major shift in policy will occur regarding the understanding of the faithful and discreet slave. The slave will invite other faithful members of the Christian Congregation to join them in the work at hand in these last days. Therefore a composite slave will include both anointed and faithful members of non-anointed ones, proven men that can assist the older anointed in their life-saving work. Therefore, all experienced, faithful Christians can be viewed as the "servant" or Faithful slave". The Christian Congregation has been in operation so that the slave can attend to the matters of sole importance in the Master's absence. Once the Memorial is celebrated, all those that are "faithful and discreet" will be members of the Christian Congregation. Their is reason to believe that the number, 144,000, is a literal number with a symbolic reference. Any that partake in a given year can be members of the 144,000. A total of 144,000 per year to partake is what the symbolism stands for. Any that partake unworthily of the emblems will be viewed as members of the "great crowd" that are before the throne of God in heaven. To get to heaven, itself, they will have to change their earthly attitude and pray to God to become His children. Then and only then, can the brotherhood be part of the true faithful slave. Once the slave dies off, the Kingdom rule will occur on this earth. Being that we are in the very last of the last days, it would seem, God willing, that the end should be within this generation. If the end does occur within the next 3 to 5 years this would be undeniable proof that the Faithful and Discreet Slave is indeed made up of 144,000 prophets of God. That's about all I was told.

    minimus,

What is sad is that the JWs would swallow that without even blinking.

Elsewhere, You have been "tested as to fitness". I thought it sounded right. Somewhat illogical. So it might have that "ring of truth",

Hell, it sounded good to me. I know if I was still a dub, I would've bought into what minimus said if it was coming from the FDS. Just goes to show that the FDS can say whatever it wants, and the R&F will believe it without question...because after all, God talks only to them.

Quote "upcoming special INTERNATIONAL conventions will contain somekind of majorinformation or releases.

Thats the exact same thing they said in the spring of 1968.
Better not miss it. All faithfull Jehovah's Witnesses will be there during the same week. That's so they will be easier for the Angels to protect. While GOD destroys the rest of the world. The only thing that happened was NH said the end would come, and Christ would be completely in charge before the fall of 1975

But they did sell a lot of books ( including the Aid Book ) that were not even important enough to still be in print.

What a bunch of greedy liers

Being that we are in the very last of the last days, it would seem, God willing, that the end should be within this generation

And now we begin to see how Jehovah's Witnesses will live on in perpetuity. New and creative ways to define a generation are being explained, albeit in Bill Clinton fashion. Instead of defining what "is" is, they begin to define and redefine what a generation is, so that we are alwaysin the last days and there is always an urgency to do more and give more. It seems to me that this explanation also can help solve the problem of how the number of anointed has been rising instead of declining. Minimus' explanation was so convuluted and illogical that it is undoubtedly accurate.

Prediction: 100 years from now Jehova's Witnesses will still be around and still be preaching that this generation will be no means pass away before the end. Their definition of a generation and the rest of the world's will no doubt be vastly different.

wow, minimus, you had me going there for a while; I started to rage in my head already at the BS being shoveled out.

My prediction is that they will announce that persecution has begun because of the sex abuse scandal; they will excuse themselves by saying that Satan had stirred up some "disgruntled ones" to wickedly lie and accuse innocent members of the congregation; you can see the groundwork being laid for it already. The Jan KM reminds us that part of our dedication is to avoid bad association, including (you guessed it) apostate ones and the DANGERS(OOOHHHHHH) of the internet.

Christians are admonished that they cannot be "partaking of the table of Jehovah and the table of demons". This requires that we guard against unwholesome entertainment, bad associations, and dangers on the Internet. It also calls for our shunning of apostate material. Being alert to these and other tactics of Satan will help us to live up to our dedication.

There you have it. In two short sentences, you are told that the internet and apostates are from Satan, and if you don't shun them, you are not living up to your dedication.

Ever notice that there is never an appeal to common sense or the ability of "thinking christians" to tell good information from bad? It is just the dangers of the internet, and apostate material.
