    Hi, all you Michiganders! LOL

I have been going to XJW Meet-Ups in the Detroit area for several months now, and thus far we have YET to have anyone actually FROM Detroit show up.

Several of us have thus suggested a change in venue from the Meet-Up website, but once again, our suggestion has been ignored and only Detroit locations have been offered as possibilities. So I am rebelling!

Those of us who have attended most recently plan to be at another location entirely on Saturday, February 1, 2003 than whichever location is voted upon at the Meet-Up site. If anyone from this discussion board would like to join us, please e-mail me for details on time and location.

    (Aztec, ya comin'?)

I have signed up every month for this, but it always says its cancelled due to "non-participation". I would love to me some of you guys, unless of course Aztec's the only one invited!

    (((((Pettygrudger))))

Of COURSE you're invited!!! (Aztec got the special mention coz she went to one before and just revealed to me who she was in chat a couple of days ago.)

Re: the "cancelled due to non-participation"? There are some who attend who have not joined Meet-Up, but whom I have been urging to do so. (Mostly so they can vote on changing the venue! I just realized from a post of yours yesterday that you live close to one of the other regular attendees. We may be having a bbq in your area sometime when the weather breaks. (Think warm thoughts and maybe it will actually thaw out around here. LOL)

Back channel I know that we have 5 planning on attending next Saturday. I'll drop you an e-mail, but this reply serves to put this

Woo hoo! Count me in! The only problem I usually have is my son. He tries so hard to sit still and the meetups are usually in restaurants where there is nothing for him to do. Poor kid. I don't know if it's possible but if we could meet up some where more kid friendly it would be fun. Also if it is on a bus line that would be good. Petty and I already talked about hanging out next Saturday so this could work out good!

    Pettygrudger,

You've got mail! I sent out a personal e-mail invitation to several others, too.

    Aztec,

I thought your little guy was perfectly well-behaved the last time we got together. But now you can have him run around dissipating some energy with P-g's kid(s) earlier in the day and then we'll ply him with ice cream sundaes or summat! LOL And we'll all figure out a more kid-friendly place for the next time, okay? (I'm used to McDonald's with playplaces, but I don't know how the others would feel -- LOL)

    See yas soon!

    Aztec,

Your little boy was terrific--really. He has that infectious youthful exuberance, and it is obvious you two think the world of each other. Hope to see you Saturday

Out, I got your email.....but I am not sure if I will be able to make it. I *might* have been able to go if the time were earlier, say noonish, but 5 p.m. is a wee bit late for me to pull away. I would probably have to bring the wife with me if I were to come at 5.

Hmmm, I still owe you that beer! BTW, I noticed that you had signed up on the Lansing meetup. Are you living in Lansing now or did you just sign up to come over from Detroit? We should do lunch sometime if you are living out this way.

Although I was born and raised as a Buckeye, I have a soft spot in my head for Michigan, having lived there for 16 years. Now, when I lived in Michigan, I was a Michigander. Did that make my wife a Michigoose? Inquiring minds want to know. I don't know if you folks know this, but a buckeye is a tree. The nuts on it are poisonous. So, I will say this before any of you do. Larc is a buckeye, a worthless nut. Regarding your get together. I would love to attend, but I have other comittments this weekend. Outnfree, could you put me on your mailing list for future get togethers....thanks.
