Welcome to the Board, Loris!
So many are so courageous! I am glad that your children will not shun you. It breaks my heart to read about all the torn apart families.

Wecome Loris,
I myself for so many years had seen through the lie but like the "voice crying out in the wilderness" felt I was all alone in my feelings. You will find as you talk to others on the board that you were not the only that had doubts and felt this way. There is nothing wrong with you. The "emperor has no cloths on" and you are only speaking out about the deception. You have to realize it is part of a cult deception and you were an innocent party to the lie. Welcome aboard, we are here to help you.

Hey I saw that letter you wrote to Newsweek!!!!!
I pointed it out to my never-JW brother-in-law and I told him that this lady will probably be DF'd or forced out via other means because of it. He was like, "REALLY??!!" He has no experience with the org, he finds what I've told him about it to be pretty incomprehensible.
Welcome to the board!!

Thanks for sharing your story with us Loris. Freedom is always worth any adversity we may have encountered to achieve it. The Watchtower vise is losing its grip on more and more people. And you know what? There's nothing they will be able to do to stop it. The pedophilia problem is hardly going away. The Tower can deny it all they want--but the press will continue to expose it. The Brooklyn hierarchy will eventually lose its credibility. Jeremiah 6:14 says that we can't heal a wound by saying it's not there. But when we start to admit that we have wounds, then we can start to deal with them. Are they Awake at the Watchtower?

In '65 I was in the Huntington Beach Cong.
This caught my eye. Are you talking about the Cong on Talbert Ave in Huntington Beach? I mention it because that was my family's Cong in the 60's. It was the KH where my parents were married in 1959 (Even though my Mom was not baptised. I think the family had a lot of pull). My Grandmother was especially active. Very "spiritual" and completely devoted to the society.
I was only a child at the time so I don't know if there were any other Congs in HB in the 60's.
Also, Welcome to the board!

I do not remember the street that the Huntington Beach hall was on. Talbot sounds familiar. I have large black holes in my memory from then. I struggle to remember my babies as babies and fail. The only names from Huntington Beach that I recall are Br. Bell the Overseer and his mother Sis Bell, Evylyn Brown and husband, Sis Livingston, Martha McFarland and son Mark. That is the extent of my memory. I do not remember anyone in Garden Grove at all. They were just faces. I was not invited to join any of their "reindeer Games" I had an abusive husband, I was not comfortable to be around. Happiest people on earth and all.
