Y'all are being way too hard on Zev. Just because he's wearing a wife-beater, LOL!!!

Zev, regarding your post, I believe you are just being trite and ornery? Do you not know God chose the foolish things of the world to put the wise to shame????

What more can we expect of a religion that calls its adherents FOOLS?!?!?!

I actually looked forward to the talk on how to behave at the assembly. I didn't care what was being said, it just was a relief not to have to listen to all the other crap usually talked about at the meeting.

Hi, zev. Nice to see you, t-shirt or not. I am not a fashionista and usually don't pay much heed to what people wear unless it's outstanding or outlandish to my eyes.

Anyway, on the topic, I have this to say: The quotations you post are very telling about people who live under the tyrrany of high control groups or control freaks. They do not learn consideration for other people, or even right from wrong. They only learn how to please/appease or, at least, not to displease their masters. Then, when the masters are not around, they go berserk because they have no inner sense of their own or anyone else's worth and dignity. There was so much verbiage in those quotations about supervision of young folks. Well, if those young folks understood something else besides external control and internalized a sense of purpose and self-worth, the problems would diminish considerably.

BTW, thanks for taking all of those pics at the Silentlambs march. I printed mine off the internet and show it with pride. I sat at the table with rocky220, jesika, Joe and Barbara Anderson (fellow Tennesseeans), joy2bfree, jst2laws, Bill Bowen's daughter and my daughter -- excellent company indeed one and all!

"There are motels that no longer want to rent their rooms to Jehovahs Witnesses because some have violated regulations prohibiting the cooking of food."

Yet it was okay for the WTBTS to cook us in the auditorium. They were so cheap they wouldn't turn on the AC!

What's surprising to me is that the JW's needed to be reminded, constantly, of how to behave in public and offer common courtesies that most people with good manners know how to do since childhood!

I remember one DC when rival congo boys got into a fist fight at the mall across the street... We heard about that the very next day during the DC announcements....

The worst I ever "misbehaved" was I was caught making out with a cute sister in the stairwell of the hotel by an ministerial servant I knew. Boy were my parents upset...

I remember the annual hand slapping session about assembly conduct. Some of the stories were horrid, and you would here snickers and moans amongst the congregation, but that never really stopped it from happening. Because every year the same stories came around. Perhaps the stories were recycled. I always thought that assemblies brought out the worst in some people, due to hot weather, crowds, screaming kids, and listening to the same old session from some GB member while being forced to wear panty hose, high heels and those awful pioneer skirts. I would like to dress all GB members in the same wardrobe and watch them cope.

DC's were all about sex-drive when you were a teen. I remember one DC, I was 15 and looked a little older then my age (but not much, probably). I changed into regular clothes after the session and waited till my folks went to sleep. There was a night-club in the hotel and somehow I managed to get in and danced for awhile with some drunken broad in her forties (who was actually pretty hot as I recall and who probably didn't remember any of it the next day..hmm maybe she was a witness too). I can't remember any of the spititual pabulum we were spooned out at that convention, but I DO remember the lady in the black evening dress. So I guess I can thank the watchtower for somethin.
