Id say the congos are kinda 'thin' you know post pandemic..
Id venture to say about 1/2 of what you posted. Considering all the zoom callers & what not..
😏
In our area, at least 5 Congs have been closed/merged and thus the pub count has increased in the remaining nearby Congs so it's really difficult to compare stats from the past.
Just picked this up about the decreasing number of new publishers. See the chart below.
The last report by the coward organization was 70,000 are disfellowshipped a year, with 2/3 NEVER returning after freeing themselves from the cult and its false doctrine. Also, 65% of those born into the cult will leave, never to return, after educating themselves on the evil practices of the cult, many being victims of the abusive cult. Their controlling practices through FEAR and HATE only work on the weak minded they prey upon, leading the cult to be three times more likely to suffer from mental disorders such as anxiety, depression and schizophrenia, as shown in many medical studies. This high volume of mental illness has lead many mental health professionals to specialize in helping cult victims gain mental clarity and freedom of their fear and hate towards their fellow humans as well as help them adjust to a life in the real world.
VH7, thanks for the chart. There's nothing like visual aids to make a point. From what data I have seen, it looks like attendance is definitely down with a heavy portion of the remaining attendees being publishers over 50 years old. That's not a healthy sign for any future growth, however one may slice it.
I'm curious about where you got the 65% stat. I remember 30+ years ago when I was in, the CO told the elders (NOT in a cong meeting, but just with the "appointed men") that 90% of the Witness youth are leaving. I also remember thinking to myself, "That sounds about right." I thought so simply from my own experience in Witnessland.
So if that percentage is now 65, then that is a significant uptick of retainment among those raised in. Where did you get that 65% number? Some leaked org video? Some published stat?
It looks like people are waking up & realizing.
Realizing that the GB or WT or whoever is pissing on them & telling them that its raining.
I attend all of the meetings because that is how I can show off my brilliance.
A Pew study published research a few years ago that 2/3 of born in Jw's leave their religion.
I too have wondered what physical attendance at my old K.H is like now, two Congregations use the Hall, and I have no way of knowing what the official Publisher count is for them. But back when I was in there was always 25% of that number missing at any one meeting, different folks each time, but that figure was about constant.
What is of greater interest to me is the number who have left since I did, over a decade and a half ago, others have died of course, and I cannot think they have been replaced by converts, so I am thinking the two Congregations in reality are no larger than when I left.
My area is definitely down.
The town I live in went from 4 to 3 congregations and some Sunday meetings there are scarcely 40 in attendance. Used to be 100 plus.
Another rural congregation just outside of our circuit was 80 plus publishers about 10 years ago. They are now 18.
If you look around the typical demographic in the congregation they are old people. 10 more years and there will be no one left.
