They were down to like 7 or 8K anointed - how could more than 10K (since we have over 18K now), be needed to replace some who are not faithful?
Those in heaven could NOT be unfaithful as per their doctrine.

There has been Witchtower articles and talks where it is implied that the increase in the anointed is due to some having mental issues or lacking the mental clarity of what it means to be chosen by God.

I guess I could never figure out why the Borg just doesn't report the number that suits them. Who would know? Heck, they could start the countdown again and whip up some more the end is near because the partakers dropped from 18,000 down to 17,000. They could lower the numbers for 20 more years, by that time all of the old timers will be gone,

It's one thing to lie by omission, obfuscate, and weasel-word your explanation; loyal followers find that much easier to internally justify if/when they find out.

It's quite another to state - in public - blatant falsehoods than can be checked against actual hard, difficult-to refute recorded evidence...

...and then justify it as "The Truth".

(Also, I suspect authoritarian leaders find verbal sneakery more viscerally satisfying.)

BTW, it wasn't a Witchtower article (although those guys are funny as hell); it was an actual Watchtower publication.

May be Jah is stocking up replacements now, in case any of the 144K would disobey or sin in the new world. The bad apple would be quickly destroyed and replaced with the back up.

According to JW Facts , it is only 13 years since there were just 8000 partakers. Now we have 18500 ! Wow!

That is an explosion of numbers.

Dubs say unofficially that it is due to the growth in Africa and S. America where they are previously evangelical and wrongly donot give up the heavenly hope... They speak of the 'real anointed' being much lower.

Can you buy that.?

Since the other sheep only began being called after the year 1900...all Christians before that were anointed.

It's beyond belief that there were less than 144000 Christians that existed from AD33 till the start of the 20th century...when in fact millions were martyred for their faith in Christ during this period.

Funny how Watchtowerites can judge the Christianity of men and women they have never met based on a numerical theory in a symbolic book

I don't believe the WT will or would ever fabricate the number of partakers. They will report the number accurately, or if it becomes too embarrassing, quit publishing it or mentioning it entirely.

The JDubs go through a lot of effort to secretly put a Memorial invitation in every door in their territory to invite strangers to celebrate that Jesus died only to be told while at the Memorial that they can't nibble or sip the emblems even though Jesus said that they should. Maybe Jesus words, "Keep doing this in remembrance of me," is just a little too difficult to understand.

These people will be surprised to learn that they aren't qualified, worthy, or deserving to partake. They can however fully reject the blood and body of Jesus by passing the emblems on to the next person.

I wonder how Jesus feels every year when millions of people in the Kindom Hauls turn up their noses at him?
