it is a bit funny that you are always asking creationists to post what books they have read and if they haven't read the books you like you treat it like a huge victory... but in this case you can't even be bothered to do research on your own but must have it all spoon fed.

    much standard, so double!

I am under no obligation to carry out any silly task you decide to task me with and which would require considerable investment on my part.

Presenting information that you find interesting and important is not silly. It's something I do frequently. If you don't present it succinctly in your own words then nobody will pay any attention to it. Why should they?

If you understand the subject you are arguing for it will take very little effort to write up your thoughts. Of course you are under no obligation and I didn't 'task' you with anything. I said that if you really want to discuss it then that is how to go about it. Your choice. I have already read articles about panpsychism and found nothing at all to attract my further attention. It answers nothing, it raises more questions than it pretends to solve and it is unfalsifiable which shows it is not science.

@cofty: I have actually presented information in the form of two links..

you are the person who don't present information asides your own opinion and straw men.

To me, it seems you just assume I am some kind of idiot and everything I say is based on a very shallow understanding. OK thats cool I can work with that. If that is true, you should very easily be able to demonstrate it by having a reasonable discussion, so lets do that like grown ups instead of asking silly tasks of each other?

what is your refutation of integrated information theory for instance?

I thought we were talking about panpsychism. What is the connection between that and 'integrated information theory'? Do you have the slightest idea or are you just posting links you haven't read?

I have actually presented information in the form of two links..

Posting links has no connection to presenting information. Anybody can post a hundred links a minute without understanding any of them

you are the person who don't present information asides your own opinion and straw men.

I have dozens and dozens of threads of detailed information presented entirely in my own words. I never post about stuff I don't understand.

Where can I read about your view of consciousness which is far superior than panpsychism?

@Cofty: if you had read the article you would know it so why don't you start there?

I have never written about consciousness but absolutely anything anybody has ever written on the topic makes more sense than panpsychism. It is unfalsifiable and therefore it isn't science.

Rocks are not conscious. If you think otherwise go ahead and present your evidence.

The only book I have read on the topic is 'Consciousness Explained' by Dan Dennett. Brilliant book but I remain unconvinced that he has solved it. The book is on my bookshelf behind me right now. I should reread it sometime but I have a lot of other stuff lined up at the moment.

    @cofty: Rocks are not conscious

the point of something like integrated information theory and modern views of panpsychism is exactly to make it clear why rocks and humans are fundamentally different in terms of consciousness. you do get that basic point right?

integrated information theory is a form of panpsychism AARGHHHGGHHGG!!!! From the article you supposedly read:

One of the most popular and credible contemporary neuroscience theories on consciousness, Giulio Tononi’s Integrated Information Theory, further lends credence to panpsychism. Tononi argues that something will have a form of “consciousness” if the information contained within the structure is sufficiently “integrated,” or unified, and so the whole is more than the sum of its parts. Because it applies to all structures—not just the human brain—Integrated Information Theory shares the panpsychist view that physical matter has innate conscious experience.
