How does being a ceramics engineer ( I'm not even sure what that is ) give you incite into how scientifically accurate the Bible is ?
I'm guessing that the lady who talked about churches preaching materialism is American.
Don't these special talks include at least something from the Bible ?

Not former, I remember the SNL character, Dana Carvey, playing the church lady! So funny! And Balaamsass, I totally agree with you. I used to walk out of these “special” talks, wondering what was so special about it. Just more BS. 💩

..if excruciating boring wt old
lightshite is your thing, then the 'Special Talk' is rather special.😉 -

The funny thing is that the WTS often turns to cranks and nutters for their "Bible is scientific" articles. There are organizations and sites that offer a more up-to-date take on that concept, but I doubt the WTS would want to associate itself with them. So they turn to "ceramics engineers" for guidance. LOL.

The dubs have used and overused the "special" so many times it's become annoying. Remember the big deal hype about the special release coming at a district convention....? It turned out to be Kingdom News 16(?) a 4 page tract for another special door to door campaign and of course it was followed by more specials of some sort. Does anyone even remember the content?

Additionally, the hokey stuff during the Watchtower about the anointed always gets me mad. They say the 144,000 go to heaven and that no one on the earth gets to see God and Christ. They're such liars.

But it is true. No one on earth gets to see God and Christ. If you see it differently, it does not make you a liar but someone who believes differently.
Well, I guess a better word would have been "a person who spreads falsehood."
The individuals who believe a falsehood may not be deliberately trying to lie, but inadvertently they are promoting a lie.
By definition, a "god" is someone higher in power. A "god" can do things that humans may not think are possible.
The god who created all things is a "father" by definition. Certainly it is possible for the one who created all things to create a body for himself to visit the earth in.
The fake-books in the Bible canon, like the New Testament epistles, and various spurious insertions by gnostics and kabbalists who worked as "scribes" and caretakers of the "Bible canon" over the years, are among the spreaders of falsehood who say god can't come to earth.
Jesus didn't say anything about God not coming back. Jesus didn't say no one would see Jesus either. In fact, Jesus said quite clearly he'd be hanging out here and drinking wine and stuff like that.
God walked in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve every day. It says after they sinned they "hid from his face" and also that he was calling them, that he used to walk with them in the breezy part of the day.
It's the gnostic/kabbalist teachings that say there's some weirdo going up to heaven thing for humans who die or going down to hell. It's not a teaching from the true God.
Humans don't go to heaven. None of them. The 144,000 don't go to heaven. They are just like older siblings here on earth who help the others understand things. They aren't going anywhere. Their job is to help people get ready for when Jesus and Jehovah come back here. To earth.
