I think I may be becoming an X-X-JW

I think I may be moving on shortly. I officially joined this web-site 12 years ago as PIMO about to exit the organisation. I had spent about a year before that, as just a none commenting member. There has been no other web sight that has had such a life changing impact on me. Thank you so much Simon. I remember my first post entitled "I'm just tired of this." I was surprised that I had 3 different members here give me their numbers, saying I could call them. Which I found surprising and very moving, considering how apostates are portrayed. Thank you so much for your very kind words Flipper. In that time I've seen a lot come and go.

I have found just recently that my interest in things XJW has slowly weaned over time. In fact I find it now just irritating. My commenting on here over time has gone down as well. I know JWisim is a scam and I can't really go any further. I've made some good friends on here, Fat boy slim. One day fat boy slim May come for a visit idk. But I think I'm moving on. All the best you good people.

I am glad you are moving on joe, it is so good for your personal happiness and well-being !

If it means we will not have the pleasure of your company here so often, so be it. In fact the vast majority of people who were "Regulars" on here when I first joined about two decades ago, are no longer on here. It seems to be a part of many people's journey to becoming a normal , happy person, to lose interest in things J.W, and how healthy is that !

All the best to you in your future, may you eradicate all J.W influence upon your thinking and personality, so that you become almost like someone who has never been a J.W, of course we can never forget, but we can expunge every baleful influence the Org. had on us.

May you be forever Fulfilled and Happy !

    The five stages:

    Denial

    Anger

    Bargaining

    Depression

    Acceptance

Congrats, you have reached the last step and can move on with peace of mind

For one to "move forward" in their exit from the JW's, I do think you eventually have to become an Ex Ex-JW.

And, I realize I have not yet taken that step, at least not fully. That is based on the fact that I still check in here pretty regularly on this ex-JW group. Yet, I do see my exit as still being progressive. I used to check in here to keep up to date on all the JW changes (aka New Light) because it was better than following it on the JWdotBorg site.

But now when I check in here I realize I no longer give a shit about the JW doctrinal changes and such. That stuff just does not affect me much any longer. I do not feel the need to be able to "talk" the (JW) talk. I just don't care!!

I rather prefer to follow the topic dealing with world politics. Although I think that I have traveled quite a bit more than the average American, I don't think traveling as a "tourist" allows one to "get the feel" of things when you're here or there for a week or two. And I thank the many here who help me get a better perspective than if I was totally isolated. So, although I've read of some posts where members here ask Simon to shut down the political conversations, I'm glad he has not done so. And, since the JW hierarchy seems to find their "tit in the wringer" with various governments these days, I think this is the only place we would find out about such things. (Certainly not going to find it in the current events on the Borg site.)

Joe, I think your posts indicate a similar "transition". You started here stating you "were alone" yet still "sticking up" for WT. I'm not sure I have gone through all the steps that Lee posted above, but certainly a lot of them and clearly some/many of them all at the same time.

Good luck to ya! Please do check in from time to time and give us an update!

The greatest revenge is living a happy & successful life!

    JOE134CD:

Well, everybody here wishes you all the best!

Are you the poster with the elderly dad still in the JWs - and you don’t want him to wake up so to speak? Sorry if I have the wrong poster. Yes, many people tire of posting at some point and ‘move on’. Others love coming on here.

I have been on here a long time. My favorite topic (the religion knocking jobs/careers) is becoming more obvious or relevant as yet more Witnesses reach retirement age unprepared and the results are disastrous… But, I suppose I will run out of steam at some point.

Again, Wishing you all the best. Happy trails.

Good for you, many do find their way out if you can cut ties completely. I was hoping to be on that way, but then I seem to keep getting pulled into the painful and disastrous results of their policies through close and extended family that are still ‘in’.

I’m probably going to be around here for another decade or so, hopefully after that I can make that same transition and just have it as a bad history.

over the years since ive been on here--i have met up with several ex jws who used to write a lot--but they have all left now. Some i chat with occasionally through facebook--but in reality the only thing we had in common was being ex jws---and who the hell wants to be reminded of bad times in a past life ?
