Do you think JW men treat women worst than 'other' men in power?

The JWs came along, found out my story, just told me to submit to him
JW elders, for the most part, will NEVER encourage a woman to leave an abusive husband.

This is the problem with the dubs, at least 'in the world" in is not accepted when you beat your wife. But the dubs feed into the misgoynistic mind set of these power hungry men. Instead of them receiveing council for" their not treating their wife as Christ treats the congregation" or treating their wife as they would their own body they are almost patted on the back for keeping the family in line. I really wish they were held legally accountable for some of the damages these men cause. I have put this on the forum before but an elder acutally had the audacity after a Tuesday night meeting to smile at Thunder Rider and tell him (because of a comment I made that wasn't customary) "Well you just need to take this lil missy home and beat her" ERRRRRRRRRR

While it's true that the probelm of men treating women unfairly does indeed exist everywhere, there does seem to me to be a certain degree of 'empowerment', if you will, of males in dubdom which may indeed lend itself to abuses.

That is absolutely not funny. Not in the least. As a comedian-wanna-be, as well as an aspiring human (I'll get there someday), I have found that there is at least a modicum of truth in what many pass off as "humorous" comments.

I'm surprised that sisters in the hall are allowed to comment at the WT and bookstudy, when Paul (The wacky mysogynist bachelor) said that women are to be fully submissive in the congregation. I suppose the sisters could end each comment by looking doe-eyed at their husbands and saying "Was that okay honey?" just to be sure they weren't violating the law of submission.

For a single guy Paul sure had a lot of advice for and about women.

    Simply... Yes

My sister has dated 2 and married 1 witness. all 3 of them treated her like crap and her ex husband cheated on her.

She compares my relationship with my fiance, to be so much better then her three. The power of being head of the house goes to their head I think.

Nope I didn't find it funny either and what's sad is he wasn't joking. I took him aside and through gritted teeth said 'Don't YOU ever tell my HUSBAND T TAKE ME HOME AND BEAT ME" Hmm could it have been the flames shooting out of my eyes that made him quit smiling.

And yet, knowing you two, that is exactly what happened, after a fashion.

I am glad to know that you feel I have never been in that situation before. Maybe if you knew me you would know that I was in a controlling relationship for 1 1/2 years and I told the guy to get out of my life and I wanted nothing to do with him. Yes it was a bad situation and I know by experience you can get out of it. So this was not a naive comment from someone that hasn't walked a mile in someones shoes for your information.

This is Scarlet I accidently posted under my husband because I was on his computer.

A lot of Christian theology and doctrine is simply a reflection of God as the Ultimate Alpha Male.

How this leads up to Jehovah's Witnesses requiring humiliating women by making them wear dishcloths in certain situations would take dozens of posts to explain.
