He was great in the role he chose to play - but not the all-action Bond type. Lots of innuendo and his self-deprecating made him lovable.
Preferred him in The Saint ~
Of course any Roger Moore Bond would have gone down better than an evening at the meetings ~~~
I could never get him out of my head as "The Saint" also i didnt realise he made 7 Bond movies .
However I loved "The Saint"

Roger Moore was also Ivanhoe in the TV series.
and above all.. utterly British..
Suave and sophisticated - will never be another like him.
