JWs Tortured in Russia

It's sad to see the R&F suffering for their personal faithfulness to a doctrine and actions they are forced to adhere to, when the leaders who demand this level of faithfulness would sing like a canary if they were subjected to the same treatment. Remember Erich Frost handing over the names of his fellow JWs to the Gestapo, even without being tortured? Then, in the 50s, he gets to share the convention stage with Knorr.

Imagine your favourite GB member being subjected to what the current Russian JWs are going through. Do you think that they might fold like a seven high poker hand*?

*I'm not saying most of us wouldn't. Just that the GB have a bunker to hide in, currently protected from persecution by the freedoms afforded them by a government they despise. It must be comforting to know that you are safe from the consequences of rules you impose on others.

it's the same as in the kingdom halls and circuits

    "theocratic politics"

thing is, the same tactics the wt dudes use in "judicial" hearings (read "nonjudicial")

    will get played on them

the govts already know about all the csa bc they do it too

but the govts hold the "judicial" system

so it will go down for wt the same way she played others

"judicial" hearings with no real evidence bc it doesn't matter when the verdict is decided ahead of time

(the govts already know wt is guilty anyway, so they don't need more evidence - they play with little kids the same way)

While I fully agree that torture purely over one's religious beliefs is morally wrong, there are factors in this whole story that Witnesses never conciser.

Firstly, Witnesses expect that the rule of law, operates globally and are shocked to learn when its not. Why? Its because they are totally ignorant about the world. Dictatorial governments thought all time, have always acted in this manner, which includes the violent suppression of decent. Additionally, while the torture is bad, there are actually far worse things being committed throughout the world, like the industrial level execution of people for organ harvesting or the legalized killing of children a week before their birth.

But secondly, Witnesses themselves (or more exactly the Governing Body) have fostered the situation that encourages violent action of totalitarian regimes, by developing the doctrine of non-compliance. Yes ... the spiritual warfare doctrine is well known by those in power, and the stubborn application of it by the ordinary Brother will only be rewarded by pain in countries like Russia.

Thirdly, Witnesses always think that its all about them. But no. Russia has banned and actively persecutes all religions and NGOs not directly tied back to the Russian government. The situation in Russia is not religious, its POLITICAL ... with all members of American religions in particular, being attached and having their assets confiscated. The LDS in Russia is another good example where peoples human rights are also being violated.

However lastly and rather sadly, the persecution Witnesses get anywhere in the world over their religious beliefs, is not more than what the Governing Body gives out to tens of thousands of people ever year, when disfellowshiping people for their beliefs and actions. And I too have lost good friends through suicide, after being crushed by that 'loving' arrangement.

So while I do feel for people who suffer needlessly, in this particular story ... the blame is not all one sided.

I don’t know what you are on, “ FragrentAddendum” but it sure beats me , where you are coming from.

Torture for ideological reasons is very very wrong, no matter from where it come or to whom it is applied.

He was barely able to walk," she said. [ his wife]"Every part of his body was hurting. His hands were shaking and his face was smashed."

She said that despite the torture, Kiramov did not give them the information they sought.”

No matter what you think of his religion, you have to admire his balls !

@bluesbrother, I agree with you - what is going on is wrong

I'm saying that the wt leaders are in bed with the russian govt too

wt leaders like torture - they are not truly "Jehovah's" witnesses

    they are Satanists

that's why wt leaders approve of csa and protect the abusers

that's why wt leaders have disfellowshipping doctrine that breaks up family/friendships

not all wt people are part of that masonic/satanic hierarchy, but the top guys all are

they made an arrangement for some of the wt rank-and-file to get tortured

it's how satanists get power, by doing sacrifice

the rank-and-file jws have no clue - they are keeping integrity in the way they know how

they've been indoctrinated and they're mixed up on some things

they incorrectly equate loyalty to the gb with loyalty to god

it's just like nancy yuen in china, she could have gotten out of that jail time

but the wt holds her up as an example because they like torture

    the wt leaders are satanists
