Democrats are always harping on and on about voting rights and how the ability to vote should be easier and access unrestricted. The most progressive ones want to allow prisoners, and illegals with no voter ID the ability to vote along with the criminals, drug addicts, and uneducated low lives who already can vote. After they push for everyone and anyone to be able to vote they then tell us it is a sacred privilege, a duty and honor, and a big responsibility blah, blah ect....If it is all those grandiose things are true I think it should be harder to vote not easier.Voter ID for sure, If I had my way there would be criminal background checks, intelligence test, cognizant tests, drug tests. My vote can be cancelled by a person who is an idiot who knows nothing about the government, or maybe they're half in a coma like Pappy Joe, how about an insane person, Alzheimer patient, druggy or criminal.I think Democrats have nefarious motives in wanting everyone to vote. -

I think Democrats have nefarious motives in wanting everyone to vote.
The most progressive ones want to allow prisoners, and illegals with no voter ID the ability to vote along with the criminals, drug addicts, and uneducated low lives who already can vote.
Most of us who keep up with politics know the reason why Democrats want all the scum to vote. Because all the illegals, prisoners, criminals, drug addicts, and uneducated will ALWAYS VOTE DEMOCRAT.And Democrats are trying hard to make the United States a One Party Government. That's why in Democrat run States criminals can steal up to 999 dollars and not be charged, Murders get out on small amt. of bail or none at all.A new bill in California will give illegal immigrants 150,000 Dollars of free money to buy a home, and 10,000 dollars of food stamps every month, courtesy of our tax dollars. These people will never vote any other way except Democrat.Quote;A first-in-the-nation California proposal could make undocumented immigrants eligible for up to $150,000 in state-supported home loans just as immigration has become an incendiary topic in the presidential election.
The measure is likely to pass the California Legislature this week where Democrats enjoy a supermajority and in a state that has the largest share of undocumented immigrants in the country.

Just do this:
1) No more withholding tax.
2) Move tax day from April 15 to approx. 10 days before election day.

Great idea !!
Why can't election day be a national paid holiday?
Oh yeah, they don't want to make it more convenient for average working people to vote. Duh

Anyone who believes qualified citizens should not be enabled to vote, should take a stand and protest the election.
Believe me when I say, I support your right to not vote.
Funny how those who say gun buying should be without any background checks or restrictions are the same who want background checks and restrictions on voting.

In the USA the Individual States determine who is qualified to Vote.
And the State law changes every election term, depending on whether the governor and State legislature becomes Republican majority or Democratic majority.
Guess what majority runs New York and California.
Here are some examples.
Incarcerated people from Maine, Vermont, and Washington, DC, can vote from prison
In 23 states, those with felony convictions automatically regain the right to vote when they are released from prison.
In 14 states, people formerly incarcerated for felonies automatically regain the right to vote after completing their entire sentence, including probation or parole
Eleven states do not automatically restore voting rights to everyone with felony convictions.
Six states — Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Wyoming — automatically restore voting rights for certain crimes, such as nonviolent felonies.
The specific crimes disqualifying former prisoners from automatic voting right restoration varies from state to state, but most commonly includes homicide, sexual crimes, and certain theft crimes.
As far as background checks for gun buying individuals, the USA has mandatory background check by the FBI. Contrary to popular belief, No one can buy a gun without a FBI background check. But most citizens are ignorant of this fact. And Democrats know this, so they use the rhetoric that the government needs to stop the hundreds or thousands of mass murders in the USA, and can only be accomplish by a Universal Registration.
FBI stats, show that more deaths are accomplish by knives than AR15.
What Democrats want is a Universal registration for all gun buyers. Which is different than a back ground check. A Universal registration is what allowed Hitler and other tyrants to disarm the citizens and allow them to commit genocide.
Gun buyers are required to submit to a background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
A prospective buyer fills out ATF Form 4473 and the federally licensed firearms dealers relays this information to the NICS. NICS staff perform a background check to verify the prospective buyer does not have a criminal record and is not otherwise ineligible to purchase a firearm.
The NICS has conducted more than 300 million checks since launching in 1998, leading to over 3 million denials.
The following groups are currently prohibited from owning guns:
Convicted felons
People under federal domestic restraining orders
People convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence crimes against victims they have been married to, lived with, or had a child with
People committed to a mental-health facility, or a court ruled were mentally unfit
Fugitives
People convicted of drug crimes or determined to by a court to be addicted to an illegal controlled substance
Thirty states, five US territories, and the Washington, DC rely on the FBI for background checks via the NICS. Seven states handle some background checks with the FBI in charge of specific types of transactions. The remaining 13 states, known as “point of contact” states, rely on state law enforcement agencies for background checks.
There is no such thing as buying a gun in the USA without a background check. That being the case, how is it criminals get guns?
Why does the ATF go after Law abiding citizens with guns instead of going after gang members with guns?

liam - Great post.
Banning or severely restricting guns only hurts the people who obey the laws
Low income people who do not pay taxes have no skin in the game.
All they see is if I vote Democrat I can get free shit .
Almost can't blame them it's the way the system is setup.
I would do the same in their shoes.

Only the tax payers should be allowed to vote. No representation without taxation.

Only land owners should be allowed to vote, that is the way it was intended for the exact reason that you can promise everyone else handouts on the backs of people you can extract the handouts from. If you own no land/house/property you have no incentives to think about your vote.
As far as the registration to vote vs gun ownership, you have the right to defend yourself especially if an elected government is oppressive. So you need the guns in order to defend your right to vote even if it were the the government institutes inane requirements such as having a valid ID for guns but not for voting.
Self-defense is a natural right, governments are not even necessary for the functioning of society.
