Charlie, just light your candle, sing a few chorus' of Kumbaya and take another toke off the joint. You'll be okay.

Oh lord, am I going to have to whip out the pictures of me with a mohawk? Kumbaya my ass, more like something from the Dead Kenedys. So your going to deny you insulted me in the other thread?

Charlie, your vitriolic style of posting comes across as very insulting. You say I insulted you first and all I found was where I joked with you about don't protest naked. If it makes you feel better to cry victim and say I insulted you, be my guest, doesn't matter to me. I have more important matters to worry about.

He said in effect that war is something this country does well.
Goodness me! Do you really think so? Which was the last war the US "did well"? WW2 maybe?Ozzie

Wednesday:
Your profound ignorance will never cease to amaze me. You claim that it is supremely cowardly to resist joining a war effort and slaughtering innocents in the name of one's country. I personally think that it is the Americans who are being supremely cowardly.I mean, if you compare America's military power with that of Iraq's, it won't be too much of a fair match. And you talk of the Iraqi authorities "amasing" (you mean "amassing," don't you, you ignorant moron?) weapons of mass destruction. Well, what the hell do you think that the U.S. has been doing for the past 55 years or so? This only shows the hypocrisy of Bush and company in that he's about to invade another sovereign nation under the false pretense of possessing the very same kind of weapons that the U.S. holds in its arsenal.
To make this short, I just want to say that people have totally ignored one major point. Namely, they should ask themselves what Jesus would have done in a similar situation. As I interpret Jesus' words in the Bible, I maintain that in no way would he ever joined any war effort at any time. In my humble opinion, Jesus despised all killing, no matter what the reason for it supposedly was. In my opinion, Jesus would have resisted killing for the sake of state-sponsored terror. So, does that make Jesus a coward? I know, Wednesday, that you are an ignorant idiot who can neither write nor think. However, I have to wonder if even you could call Jesus a coward. Ask yourself: what would Jesus have done? This is a question that Bush should also ask himself. Here is an individual who claims to be a Christian, but ignores one of the most basic precepts of the Bible - THOU SHALL NOT KILL. Here is an individual who claims to be a Christian, and yet he shows nothing but contempt for the advice given to him by the leaders of most Christian churches, both Catholic and Protestant. It's abolutely disgusting.
P.S. I believe that refusing to fight in W.W. II and subsequent wars was one of the very, very *few* things that the dubs did right!!! That was one of the very, very few instances where they actually interpreted biblical admonitions and teachings correctly. God can bless them on that account, at least.

"Sigh", Trauma and Dakota, could you boys take your argument elsewhere. Have your opinions and respect others enough to allow them theirs. Getting defensive is not going to help anything.
Ok, I'm tired and it's been a long nite. I'm going to bed now.

NewSense, this is as about as hollow an argument as any. No one alive here has ever walked with or talked with Jesus and have only the interpreted and translated words that are claimed to be his to rely on. I do appreciate that you did say as you interpret it, though.
The old testament is filled with accounts of war and slaughter. However, I will not stoop to justify the possibility of war with Iraq based on that. I still hold out hope of Saddam disarming, as mandated in 17 UN resolutions, but see little hope of that, given the enormous amount of support he has received.
But, I can still hope he does and that war is averted.

That hope totally ended on 9/11.
Again, what did Iraq have to do with 9/11?
It's amazing how thoroughly the administration and the media have conflated these two unrelated issues.

>That is the beauty of living in the US, we have the right to choose and the right to hold our own beliefs...
Correction : It *was* , now the US is slowly turning into a police state , where even wearing a T-shirt with
a protest against the war is forbidden...
