So much depends upon the window to the world you choose. Outlets that have a systemic addiction to feigned outrage and manufactured scandals will continue to insist the world is coming to an end and the solution is the other political party.

It was $1.88/US Gal here until Biden got elected. It's now $2.09 or higher (saw $2.28 yesterday) and the man is only in office one day.
You folks in the UK have obviously been getting f*cked longer and harderer by your politicians than us in the US. Surely there is no higher cost to refine oil there than here. Plus you don't have to ship it halfway around the world.
Also consider that the US is 40x larger than Britain. We likely drive a little further in the average day/week/year and it has a greater impact on our personal finances. AND, we LOVE our SUV's.

I say BULLSHIT!
I pay $19.50/hr for unskilled labor and cannot hire people who want to work. Many admit they are drawing unemployment (and working on the side for cash) and making more money for not working.

According to the BLS, in December 2020 unemployment rate was 6.7% which is around 10.7 million unemployed.
Not sure how they calculated 20 million in the above article.
