Hey moron, one guy was able to stop a tank in Tienimun sqaure, why couldn't a bull doze driver stop? I would have expected this in China, not in Isriel.

The tank in Tienaman Square was a fluke in the middle of social upheaval, TH. It happens sometimes. The stupid leftie in Gaza should have GOT OUT OF THE WAY! It doesn't take Solomon to understand that bulldozers hurt!

Should the driver have stopped? Yes, he should have. Should we be surprised when it doesn't? NO!

Yes you should be, since everyone at the scene, expected it to stop, because it had in the past, you people make me sick, your lack of empathy for a human life, maybe someone close to you will die, and your get a kick start in the ass.

Charlie we've all lost someone we love. But give me a break buddy, you move out of the way of danger or you die. You put yourself in harms way, you die. I doubt anyone here wanted her to die but I'm not going to hold up the poster girl for stupidity as a hero, are you?

I know of a vietnam war protestor that stood in front of a train carrying ammo to be loaded on a ship bound for Vietnam. The train did not stop, he didn't move, he lost both legs. It's a shame but who is to blame? Like the girl I feel this man was willing to give up his life for his cause. I think it's stupid to do this stuff but, it's their choice.

I imagine we'll be killing some human shields before this is over. Unless they come to their senses.

When has any of the peaceniks whining about the Palestinians showed the slightest empathy for victims of suicide bombers in Israel? It appears that death only bothers some from the left when it isn't an Israeli.

Maybe there was a more constructive way she could have helped bring about a resolution to the crisis? People of energy and passion are always needed in times like that.

Stopping the bulldozer accomplishes nothing - it will just come back tomorrow. But maybe there could be some other way to solve the situation.

How about by helping the Palestinians build better lives in the surrounding countries or in their refugee cities?

    Back on topic ...

... this is very worrying and shows a fundamentalist "we want to control the news" attitude that is not at all dissimilar to the WTS.

"Anything you hear that isn't from us is a lie"

What don't they want us to hear or see? How many people get killed? Whether any chemical weapons are used? Any massacres? Any planting over 'evidence'?

I dont think telling these reporters that they might be killed is controlling the news. They know the risks of reporting behind enemy lines. One would think common sence would tell these reporters to get out of Iraq......

Several news agencies (American and otherwise) have left reporters in Baghdad. I don’t think the Pentagon was saying they are planning on ‘killing’ the reporters; what they were saying is that they are not going to be able to easily discern friend from foe and might accidentally kill some reporters. To say that the Pentagon is threatening to kill reporters is a bit of yellow journalism and shows a strong bias.

Simon, it shows me that they care enough about the reporters to make an effort to encourage them to get out of the way. The last thing any in the military wish is for innocents, Iraqi civilians or even reporters, to be harmed. They are also dropping leaflets encourgaing the Iraqi military not to fight and to abandon their guns (the big ones). If reporters choose to stay in the combat zone, he US cannot be held responsible for their safety, they were warned.

But, since you mention controlling the media, need I remiond you of the biased reports from Peter Arnett during the last Iraqi war? Showing a supposedly fresh bomb crater next to houses, that had grass goring in it? Standing in front of that supposed baby milk factory, with an English hand painted sign saying, "Baby Milk Factory?" Do all Arab nations have Baby Milk Factories with hand painted signs in English on them?

During times of war, certain constraints need to be placed on the media, as they were during WW2. In the past, the media placed them there themselves. Starting in Vietnam, they did not and reported based more on their personal view than the facts. In short, the media manipulated the public.
