I just thought I would add that since this will be the mother of all "Information Wars" the US Millitary and its allies will be monitoring every piece of data that will be flying through the air trying to win and end the hostilities quickly. Having independent reporters in certain places might be a good thing...BUT those who choose to do so put their ass square in the frying pan in the face of friendly/enemy fire and also the very real possibility of pissing off the Iraqis and getting shot for spying. Either way they know the risks regardless of whether or not the Pentagon decides to give them fair warning.
I am no fool to think everything the media says or announces it true to a T, but I can judge for myself. If the rest of you have some other media source that tells the truth all the time, please tell me what channel that is and I'm all over it. Until then I think CNN will do. Its much less biased than say my local channels that each has its own agenda or slant whether conservative, aint got a clue, or liberal..
If you look at the protection the coalition forces have provided the media, like gas masks/bio suits, I would question those that think there will somehow be a coverup of using biological weapons. UH...if there were a coverup there will be a lot of dead reporters indeed. Hard to report when you are dying from chemical and biological agents because no one bothered to provide you with protection...
