WT needs your kids uneducated: CO training video is Master Class in F.O.G. This is jaw-droppingly stupid. Beyond moronic, it's sub-moronic.

CO training video: Link to Ex-JW Reddit thread discussion

Today is the first time I was made aware of this actual Elder Body video. It's training for how a CO should handle Elder's whose children decide to pursue further education. The above link is like a "Part 1" or something. 5 mins.

This is an absolute Master Class in cult control tactics thru F.O.G. = Fear, Obligation, and Guilt.

Imagine, being summoned to a private meeting with your fellow volunteer religious non-clergy (Cough, cough) to discuss (AKA: interrogated) the unforgivable SIN of "allowing" your grown-ass children to decide for themselves, to seek out and pursue "higher education"! (Gasp!)

First off, I'd never allow such a meeting to even take place. I'd straight up tell these clowns to mind their own damn business, and that's it's a family matter that doesn't require their input, at ALL. Case closed. By I digress. So right off the bat, I believe Brother Bald CO to be a limp-dicked low-testosterone beta company TOOL. He goes right into how somehow dad is responsible for the "conscious of the Congregation", how his decision to let his kids attend higher education looks bad, blah, blah, blah. I mean really; like anyone gives a shit if someone else's kids go to college or university? These people need to get a fuggin' life!

Next: I luv how they portray the Elduh Father who's basically on trial here by his "friends" in the Elduh Body. Crossed arms, defensive, and frankly probably sick of all this bullshit by now. He probably wants to quit the Body already, but can't because his Pioneer Elderette wife would never let him hear the end of it. (her only status in life is being married to a position of power, sad AF!)

So, we've got Elder Brown-noser starting to lay into the father about how his kids only want to a better life now instead of pursing spiritual interests, etc. This is right where if I were the father, the thing I'd point-blank ask these clowns is this: "So, is WatchTower going to pay their bills? Rent? Food? Medical? Car? Insurance? No, than you get to have ZERO say in any of this. STFU, mind your own business, and good-bye!" (then proceed to get up immediately and leave, hence ending meeting)

Elder Brown-noser than proceeds to claim congregation members are "confused about what the Organization has said previously about higher education." No shit? Say it ain't so? Confused about doctrine, policy, man-made rules? Thy name is WatchTower! This cult is now so insular, so cocooned up their cult-compound, that they are completely tone-deaf and unaware as to how they sound. They truly cannot hear themselves speaking! Hey WatchTower: YOU are the ones creating the confusion! And frankly, it's something that not worth being "confused" over as it's NONE of your damn business! If you weren't so busy being a dumbass cult and micro-managing every normal aspect of human life, maybe you could put out some REAL training videos on how to address REAL life issues such as:

Dealing with victims of sexual abuse and assault, and how to properly report and get victims therapy.

    Feeding the hungry

    Clothing and housing orphans

Combating alcohol and drug addiction (better start at Bethel first with the AA help)

How to properly plan and balance your finances (not just give / leave it all to WT HQ upon member's death!)

Building hospitals (instead of movie studios)

Opening homeless shelters and soup kitchens

It's funny, "Christendom" has all of these programs above and MORE, but WatchTower does NONE of the above, and gives back exactly ZERO in charity to help their pauper members (much less society as a whole). Yet, they somehow instead put out these dumbass training videos focusing on non-issues such as "higher education" as-if having a working brain is from Satan himself.

Elder Effeminate now chimes in with, "Just because the members don't confront you about this, doesn't mean they aren't disturbed by what they see." Oh, so Elder Effeminate is now a mind-reader? Also, why would this personal decision "disturb them?" I swear, WT HQ equates education with shooting up meth on the sidewalk! Walking around downtown Portland is "disturbing." Your kid being accepted to Penn State is most definitely NOT. What planet are these people on? Planet Stupid, apparently. Where dumb is preferred, and smart is Baaaaaaaad!

Finally, Brother Brown is brow-beat by some scripture about qualifications. He finally "gives it back" to these chuckle-fucks, and even rubs it to the one Elder who is child-less! I nearly cheered in my seat watching his defense of himself and his family.

The CO cuts Brother Brown's defense short and attempts to diffuse it by claiming they're trying to come to the best decision for all. Huh??????? Again, these clowns make personal, family decisions into some sort of "Committee Meeting."

Guess what? It's not! It's none of their business! It's not up to "them." Period! My jaw is on the floor after watching this. The audacity of this cult, the jaw-dropping stupidity and arrogance they display. There is ZERO doubt in my mind as to how much of a high-control CULT they are. ZERO. What normal person would subject themselves to this level of intrusion into personal decisions? WT HQ needs to get a fuggin' clue, and FAST! No way in hell are people today going to put up with this...... the younger generation today absolutely know they need higher education to just to step onto the playing field, much less excel.

This forced stupidity under threat of "or else" will not fly today. People today are voting with their time, their feet, and their wallets. Big mystery as to why Conventions are nearly empty, and governments are standing up and taking notice and investigating this cult.

    As a follow-up to this:

I have not seen the subsequent parts to this. Can someone link them? I'd love to see the rest. I'm sure they're equally as jaw-dropping.

Every chance I had to be in gifted or Honors/AP classes in school was squashed by the JW's influence over my brainwashed parents. Unlike..........

A local high school Valedictorian who was a JW in a local Congregation. His "mommy" wrote his stupid Valedictorian speech. He went on to higher education and became a mechanical engineer. His older brother is a pharmacist. He's also a pervert who exposed himself to a room full of toddler's at a daycare his mother ran. Earned himself a spot on the Megan's Law website for 10 years as a sex offender. Apparently the "worldly" parents didn't appreciate his "Christian Love" as THEY are the ones that reported him. He's still in good standing in a Congregation in Tennessee. (had to move away to find a JW bride after that)

It never failed to escape my notice that the ones touting "education = bad" where the ones who had degrees, good paying careers, or owned some sort of construction business where they employed slave/pauper JW employees. Gee, damn easy to talk it down when you already live like Kings! Fuggin' hypocrites!

I wish I could give this thread MORE LIKES!!

This senior citizen tries to keep track of the JW kids he grew up with.

A half dozen JW kids that I went to school with dropped out of High School in the early 70s because the "END" was any day.... Those kids have no high school diplomas..some have GEDs. They PIONEERED for a couple of years, then got married when 1975 passed uneventfully. Two are still working in construction EVERY DAY IN TRIPLE DIGIT WEATHER. Both are in their late 60s and have had serious on the job injuries and surgeries in the last couple of years. Both have had multiple divorces. Both are broke, broken, renters, and exhausted seniors now.

The same goes for the Sisters. Briefly pioneered. No diplomas, but a number of struggling kids. Still working in their late 60s & early 70s. Hair dressing, sales, checkers, house cleaners, etc. Hard to be on your feet 40 hours a week at 70!. No one is relaxing in a Watchtower illustration... in the Swiss Alps, enjoying being served by the "fruit basket lady" while grandkids play with tigers and lions.

ONE KID in our hall ignored ALL the "end is near" talks and "admonishment" from Elders and C.O.s. He took a lot of heat from JWs. His dad stood up for him, as he attended cheap Junior College in town, and transferred to cheap state college. Got a civil engineering degree, and went to work for the State Department of Highways. He is now comfortably retired on the California Coast, with a home near the beach, and playing golf with his wife and kids. "Wisdom proved righteous"...

    WING COMMANDER:

I always felt that a good reason that the Witness religion wants to discourage education for young people there is because brothers with businesses want these young people to work for them for low wages and low or no benefits! ..The nerve of these hypocrites to push poverty for young people!

So any young lurkers here had better keep this in mind - especially if they end up wanting to leave the religion. That low-paid shitty job working for some brother might be in jeopardy! Do yourselves a favor and Go elsewhere and get a real job!

The Witness religion has proved over and over that they hate education for its members. Firstly, because they don’t want critical thinkers questioning their stupid doctrines; and secondly, I believe they want a pool of uneducated potential laborers.

As for them getting into everybody’s personal business: this is something that has to be nipped in the bud. I had to put a few people in their places, which was another reason they disliked me. These bastards were not and are not looking out for anybody’s interest and don’t care about you. I saw this first hand back then when they tried to interfere by criticizing my full-time job. Thank God I resisted all their bullshit and never listened to them!

I'd also like to point out (in contrast to this internal video training) that Higher Education IS acceptable when you have a skill or trade that WatchTower HQ desperately needs! Every few years after a good WT HQ house-cleaning of the old Bethelites, fresh new letters are sent out to the Elder Bodies to encourage them to get people to apply to Bethel (WatchTower HQ) that have the following advanced degrees:

IT, Engineering, HealthCare, Accounting/Finance, and last but not least - Legal!

Fine Print: No degree in something they need? You need not apply, losers!

So if you're a JW who dared to buck their "suggestions" and got a degree in the above mentioned fields, why WT HQ could surely "use" you! All voluntary and unpaid of course, and until they are thru with you and used you up - then you'll be tossed out on your ass with NOTHING to show for it! That's their idea of "Christian Love." Ask any former Bethelite who's been promptly shown the door in the past 10-15 years and they'll tell you (if they're being open and honest) how they feel about the "Fine Shepherds" at WT HQ.

So as usual it's, "Rules for thee, but not for me!"

    Sorry Wing .... Nope.

I look back at the one success story in my old Hall and if I could....I would somehow kick my own behind across the room. lol.

However, in the 80s after turning 30, as a married MS, I did sneak off to Junior College on non meeting nights for a few years, and later to a local college in order to get a "real" job with benefits. I say "sneak" because I told no JWs not even my mother. It was almost like having a secret "affair"...it was my "secret sin" lol.

Eventually my 1st JW wife complained about me to the Elders and CO for going to college, having an IRA, 401k pension.....thus having "no faith" in the end! :)

@Balaamsass2 - damn! Hoping it was you, but glad to hear you smartened up. I notice you said "1st JW Wife." Hope you made that Karen your "Ex-JW wife" in very short order after her bitching and moaning and complaining. Also, what a betrayal to even do that to your spouse. And for what? Providing a better home for her? Hope she's living in a cardboard box.

I'm kind of surprised at the message being given in the video as it is much stronger than what I see going on locally. It is quite common for JW kids (esp the young gals) to go to at least 2-year Community College and on to career training such as nursing. Granted most of the young guys are going into the construction trades, which is very unionized here and earns great money and unmatched health benefits and retirement plans.

But I suppose it is understandable. When your kid goes to college they are taught to think independently. Of course they can't help being influenced by the lefties who are the educators. But once they see their first full paycheck is only half what they earned, they'll like the guys who promise to cut taxes.
