WT needs your kids uneducated: CO training video is Master Class in F.O.G. This is jaw-droppingly stupid. Beyond moronic, it's sub-moronic.

    WING COMMANDER:

In my opinion, anybody who sweated blood, took out student loans, etc. and then goes to work for FREE for any religion has to be MAD.

The only other thing I could think of is maybe they come from wealth(?) so they don’t care about money(?) They would have to be a super lobotomized PIMI.

But, the idea that in the end they could get a kick in the ass telling them they are no longer needed and have to leave with no $$ -- is just the ultimate!!

I couldn’t even have one ounce of pity for them.. To me they are even more pathetic than the usual run-of-the-mill pioneers who rang doorbells for 30+ years who didn’t work to plan for retirement.. Those pioneers at least had the excuse of ignorance and being uneducated. Not so these educated suckers.👎

This video and the policy it promotes are insane. I am, as many of you know, a recent graduate with a MA in history. Yes, university is challenging for conservative Christians. It puts them in an environment where their beliefs are challenged, sometimes daily. And there is definitely an associations problem. I get that. But the Watchtower has raised perhaps five generations counting from Rutherford's day of under educated, under performing, believers. Talk to them and one is amazed at how difficult basic logical thought is for them.

The Watchtower will probably not change this policy, but they should. At the least start their own college. Teach their religion to an academic standard; teach public health, nursing, accounting or such, things that allow their believers to live out of poverty and still work in the Witness ministry. Wishful thinking on my part. Won't ever happen.

What the Watchtower has done to its believer children is a sin.

I'm kind of surprised at the message being given in the video as it is much stronger than what I see going on locally. It is quite common for JW kids (esp the young gals) to go to at least 2-year Community College and on to career training such as nursing.

This is what has been going on in my area for decades. However when I graduated in the 70's, if you even went to a trade school you were talked to by the elders. ***sigh***

On a side note, an elder in my hall offered to send me to college for a degree in accounting, he had his own firm. This is one regret, and its a big one, I have by not pursuing that.

We stayed with a family in Germany and the husband was the doctor at Selters Branch(sp?). He told us the elders in his hall gave him so much grief because his kids went to college. He said "how could I deprive my children from an education that I was allowed to have."

So hypocritical. I hate this two faced corporation.

    All I can say now is this;

Wake the F. Up any JWs who cant research the internet & choose to work for free & deny yourself a proper living

Smarten up. Information is widely prevalent. Just open your minds to critical thinking.

Any governments that are investigating the WT about unnecessary duress and malign influence should be made aware of this video.

Hopefully by now, they are savvy enough to WT's duplicitous ways, that they already watch all their video output anyway.

WingCommander: "I hope you made that Karen your Ex Wife"

Actually, SHE dumped him! He tried his best to make her happy despite her bitchy personality. One day he came home from work and found their ENTIRE home EMPTY as well as the bank accounts. He was gobsmacked.

He and I met years later when I moved into his cong. and was assigned to his book study. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary next week. :)

I forgot to mention that the best part of our story is that after B.Ass and I suffered through and made it out of our 1st marriages "in the Truth", We truly appreciate each other's character and good qualities. AND.....

We both left JWs about the same time. We are OUT of the F.O.G. together. Now, if only we were young lol.

lol. Thanks, WC. Yes, she left me. Like four other local JW "Karens" She used the new "out" that appeared in the late 80s edition of the "Family " book...."Spiritual Endangerment". (Watchtower's sleazy attempt to give a free JW pass to dump "Apostates".) Hoping to "upgrade" and bank on her looks she took ALL money and ran. Her open sharing about what she did, eventually got around the circuit and scared away all potential suitors, and after a while, all financial support from others.

I am not sure she can even afford a box now! Exhibit "A" of the fruitage of following Watchtower's bad advice. But within a month after she left, my doctor asked me: what I had done to get such an improvement in my vitals and major improvement in blood pressure?! After a moment I said "My wife left"...he then busted out laughing! He then ran out in the hallway to tell his partner and the nurses what I said. They all came into the exam room and laughed. :)

I never gave it much thought that the elders might discourage college just to retain cheap indentured jw servants

I wouldn’t put it past them

Higher education is hated because one develops critical thinking skills.

The Borg has no scripture to base their stance on education

    Critical thinking skills win!!
