The trolls know who they are.

Do ya really think so?!! I have my doubts. The way I read it, a troll is quite oblivious to how their "message" is received. Much like the WTS really! Cheers, Ozzie

I concur heartily with Rebel on this one; whether our friends who post here go to the local Kingdom Hall, parish or Grange Hall is none of my concern. I think this penchant for affixing labels to people sometimes verges on obsession and is a vestige of the JW mindset.

Much like smoking, regular attendance at the Kingdom Hall may well be harmful to one's (spiritual) health, but it ain't illegal! Taking this analogy one step further, this forum serves pretty much like the Surgeon General's warning printed on every pack of Cancer Sticks.

The reason that I don't post in the evenings is because I'm in the pub, just like all other good Brit apostates.

I agree with Prisca that this discussion is getting an X-File paranoia flavour. One cannot sniff out trolls by checking what time of day they are logged in.

An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people.

Think of a kid that delights in ringing doorbells and running off. That is a troll. JH, you seem to be describing a WT spy. I am sure we have those too, but they are not trolls. A WT spy does not even have to register as a user to read what goes on here. And I suspect that most WT spies are ordinary members of the congregation who already have the habit of turning in "weak ones" in to the local elders. Like the priceless sister who checked out Scully's kitchen garbage for bloody meat wrappers.

If you really think about it, it seems bizarre that someone would take the time to notice when people post and compare that to most likely meeting times in various time zones. It borders on the obsessive.

Phew! So I'm not a troll after all.

    Thanks for the definition jgnat.

    Rebel: you're not a troll

    Now...go crack open a beer, grab a bag of chips...and relax .

Sometimes implication rather than outright accusation can drive one to near insanity. I know, I have been there - human trinity here .

When passive-aggressive behaviour is executed with no regard towards the person focused on, without any proof, the results can be unpleasant.

Anyways, as to the question, I'd say given the latest events globally and yes, different time zones, the frequency of postings on certain nights or time periods goes up or down.

There are WT spies, and those that are active/inactive JWs who lurk. Trolls come and trolls go, and some come in hit hard and fast, then disappear. They're found everywhere, not just these forums, but many others as well.

    Weekend is here folks: enjoy!
