Is it bad?

I remember when I was a JW how everyone was constantly wondering whether certain things were bad or demonic or generally unacceptable to a True Christian(TM).

It seems like they are completely obsessed with things like that... like the Luau that minimus brought up in another thread or the smurfs.

When you were a JW, what were some of the "critical" things that everyone was obsessed with?

One C.O was seemingly obsessed with phallic symbols, and his wife with paper towels with certain designs on them. Some were all bugged about Michael Jackson, and his song "Thriller". Some were bothered by certain movies like ET and Ferngully. Some were actually pretty cool and not much of anything bothered them. How I wish more would be like that.

Items bought at garage sales... could they be, were they...um, DEMON- possessed?

The JW's seemed to have a love-hate relationship with garage sales. I mean, they loved to stop at them to "waste time" when out in the door-to-door ministry. But again, the things in there might be items the demons were attracted to for some strange reason.

LOL... I remember that love-hate relationship with garage sales.

My mom threw away some snoopy (from the Peanuts cartoon) pillow cases from a garage sale... apparently they were demonized and causing her to have nightmares.

LOL @ windchimes. I love them and had them hanging up when I was a JW. We had a Japaneese exchange student one year who's mother was a pioneer in Japan and the poor girl was "stumbled" by my windchimes. I guess that one was universal around the world.
