Next Saturday, 5th October 2024.
It's usually the first Saturday of October

An overhaul of the book of Revelation would be a big undertaking, not done since FF's demise, right?
Then too all this "we can't know" when it comes to interpreting prophecy argues against such a project. Maybe they'll find some other way to use the new artwork???
Anyway, the meeting is this coming weekend. Big drum roll ...
Watch this space on Saturday. I will do my best.
Thank you ukpimo...looking forward to your summary of the AGM!
A new book on Revelation is overdue. The previous one was published 36 years ago in 1988. That’s longer than any previous period between books covering Revelation.
The Finished Mystery (1917)
Light I & II (1930)
Babylon the Great Has Fallen (1963)
Then is Finished the Mystery of God (1969)
Revelation—Its Grand Climax at Hand! (1988)
New Book (2024?)
But then, Watchtower is no longer primarily a book publishing organisation, so maybe the interval is no longer relevant?
A new Revelation book would present potentially difficult choices, such as whether to stick with a literal 144,000, with the 1914 and 1919 dates, and the wacky bowls and trumpet blasts interpretations.
If they do attempt it, then it will probably follow the pattern of the Pure Worship book on Ezekiel, and the book on Acts, which both declared that they were not verse by verse commentaries and therefore focussed on highlights and themes instead. Then they could effectively avoid parts they find tricky and offer impressions and lessons rather than detailed interpretations.
Slimboyfat, there was never a 1919 date to stick to. 1919 was the convention after the War ended Advertise Advertise the king and his kingdom.
Rattigan350, the book Revelation - Its Grand Climax at Hand identifies 1919 as the year Jesus recognised "the small band of genuine anointed Christians as his 'faithful and discrete slave'" (p.63) as well as the year when the male child was born to the woman of Revelation 12 (p.183).
Although there was a convention in September 1919 at Cedar Point, Ohio, the convention with the theme "Advertise the King and Kingdom" was in 1922.
It’s probably safe to say that more people have encountered JWs preaching than any other religion
Indeed, and the result is they have turned them off from following Jesus as the only way to salvation, for some end up disgusted at their abusive cultish practices and others they dupe to follow men and not their savior, give the WT the best years of their productive lives and resources ending up nearly destitute for the benefit of a man made organization.
