    Thank you, Francoise.

Perhaps you did see my on-going post to you about your book a couple of weeks ago?

    Hey Kat,

I've been getting this magazine for many years now - I like it pretty well - somewhat balanced and deals with a lot of issues.

I believe she has a website also, but don't have the address.

There is a link to the Sidran Foundation on Randy's site.

    Thanks Caole,

The magazine I had at work when I posted the above was on older one. Jeezzzzz, back in 1995 - had it in my desk drawer.

I don't even think she had a webpage "back then."

    Check your mail?

    Francois,

Are you familiar with demonic oppression [ not possession ]where demons within a person [ including a Christian ]can play with this MPD condition.

For example, a demon oppressing a person with MPD may take on the name of the alternate personality, such that the the one helping would have to discern whether they were dealing with a demon or the alternate person. The demon(s) are removed first, and then the multi-personalities are dealt with without demonic influence getting in the way.

Also, I learned that when both the original person and the alternate(s) become "saved" in Jesus Christ, then the personalities become one person, healthy and normal. This has been the experience of some Christian therapists.

    Howdy TP,

I haven't seen Francoise around for a while - but a note of commonsense caution.....'swa said he was "authoring" a book for the "partners" of mpd/did persons. 'Swa has never said he was an authority on mpd/did, nor a professional in that particular field of study.

There are several websites listed on this thread, and several more available.....but your questions on demon possession and mpd/did probably won't be dealt with gently. Whoever is telling you this information should be handled carefully, as it could be seen as not quite authoritative nor mentally healthy.

Btw, who would do this "expulsion of unclean spirits?" A minister or a therepist who also is a minister? In my opinion, those are two close, too easily, entwined boundaries - and shouldn't be used together on a patient.

How can one realllllly identify, that is diagnose a probable "Dissociative Identity Disorder?"
I am assuming that you are asking about yourself, or someone you know? If it's yourself, a reputable professional mental health person/doctor (and check carefully recommendations - don't take his own word for his abilities) is your best bet. There was an old saying that a patient would visit an average of three therepists before he found one he could be comfortable with - I agree.

If it's someone close to you? I guess I'd read a lot, then read some more - both pro and con - check backgrounds of authors, as they can slant information the way they want sometimes.

Take care, and come back & visit. Wounded Heart visits sometimes, but doesn't post often. Nice person.

    Nice to meet you.

The previous statements I presented were to those knowing of demonic oppression, mostly by direct or indirect experiences and following up with educating themselves

I am not saying that a DID or MPD is at fault because of any demonic tampering with them. The demons don't play fair; they involve themselves with anyone if they can claim legal grounds to be in their lives. Also, the abuser causing the DID / MPD might well have had demonic strongholds within themselves. Demons possessing parents, ancestors, and so forth can transfer over to the ones that are abused, especially if done sexually. They are called familial spirits.

So if the one abused becomes DID / MPD, the demons can join in.
I am not suggesting the percentages of this happening. Again, I am not criticizing those with DID / MPD for this possibility, for they are the abused. I am just saying consider the possibility of demonic influence along with your condition. Call it no-fault oppression. Not to leave you hanging--books by Neil T. Anderson and Mark Bubeck explain and deal with these things.

I introduced here a very important, seldom recognized subject matter for those who might be suffering from both demonic oppression and DID at the same time. The awareness and distinction of the two together is very important; it is knowable.

The medical community is restricted in their helping if they do not understand a possible combination of demons with PID, expecially if think that a Christian cannot have demonic oppression. There are many Christians that can tell you otherwise.

Please please, any of you who feel you need help in coping with abuse issues, IGNORE THIS POOLE PERSON!

Look at this stupidity, this abject idiocy he spouts! "The medical community, with their restrictive belaboring clinical diagnostic approach, often jump-start without the proper spiritual tools of Christianity. This is when the demons can play around with all involved; also, there is alway the Hollywood concept to fuzz things up as well. The traditional stone-age fix is to dope the oppressed and add a bit of group dynamics and encouragment."

Don't let anyone tell you that Gawd will fix you if you just believe! It's self-evident that most people who are sick and suffering as a result of genuine trauma do NOT get miraculous healing, no matter how earnestly they pray and believe in God. Insisting that religiobabble can solve this problem is the same as insising that prayer can heal physical disease, which, as we know, is bullshit charlatanry and showbiz grandstanding, demonstrated so ably by Oral Roberts and Benny Hinn et al. Praying over a mentally distressed soul is NOT going to effect some miraculous cure. IT ISN'T DEEMINZ! PLEASE DON'T LET ANYONE TRY TO CONVINCE YOU OF THIS HEINOUS SUPERSTITIOUS CLAPTRAP!

Pray if you like, if it comforts and assuages you, but DO NOT let this cretin or any other bigot like him tell you that medical science is inferior to his brand of Churchianity and its Holy Spirit ravings!

And please, don't tell me to be 'nicer' to this creep, guys. He has no right to try to shove his archaic superstitions at people who need help for a real problem.

Medication, therapy, and hard work using the tools you learn from a competent counselor, are the things that work best to bring peace and wholeness to the shattered mind and soul. As in all things, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Your sickness has a real cause, it isn't demons hassling you, and you can't expect some Holy Spirit Miracle to take it away in a flash 'becaw-us Ah be-lee-uv!' What you can expect is that with medication, determination, group dynamics, and lots of loving encouragement, you CAN find peace and joy in life. If prayer is a comfort and joy to you, if your version of God is necessary to your present wholeness, then by all means, embrace that. But don't let this sort of fearmongering Biblethumper convince you that Gawd is offering a quick fix if you will only let them rant prayers over you and if you will follow the Bible exactly as they instruct you! If there is a sane God, which I seriously doubt, then he isn't giving it away for free, guys. To pretend otherwise is just foolish wishful thinking. Don't let a Christian fool convince you to join him in his delusions.

Why don't you blow that horrible noxious superstition out your Christer butt, you pompous arrogant prick! I don't worship your puke-crusted two-faced jealous schizoid Jayzez, and you have a lot of smegging crust telling people they are lacking in heart or spirit because they don't subscribe to your fearmongering imaginary skydaddy!

Why do you delusional emotional cripples always try to shove your imaginary friend forward as a solution? Christer lemming...pretending to love, trolling for emotionally wounded souls to suck into your mass delusion! Your 'power of Christ' is baseless, unproveable, and a pisspoor substitute for genuine reason, which you wouldn't recognize if it bit yer clueless Christer ass! Happy talk! Yes by all means let's slap on our happy Christer faces and be all sugary while telling the poor saps that they are plagued by your demons and only your imaginary superhero can HEAL!

Keep any further comments in your pants; you make honesthearted folk wanna puke.

    Sloppy wet tongue kisses,

The following is a prayer that some use to work against demonic oppression and strengthen themselves.

    PRAYER OF TOTAL SUBMISSION

Father, I thank you for the facts of your forgiveness, that you took me out of the life of Adam, and placed me into the life of Christ. Also, thank you for clearly showing me that I am now in Christ and He is in me for the duration of my life on earth. I was crucified with Him, buried with Him, raised with Him and I am presently seated in Him in the heavenlies beside you.

I thank you Lord Jesus that you came into my life to be my total means for living the Christian life. I agree that I am absolutely powerless to do this in and of myself. Beginning now, I gladly choose for you to live your life in me and through me.

I reckon (count) myself to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:11). It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me and the life I now live in this body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

Lord Jesus, I joyfully receive your strong, overcoming life (in me) in exchange for my life of weakness and failure. Depending upon your ability working in me, I humbly submit each of my problems, anxieties, worries and fears to you (speak them as they come to mind). Read: I Peter 5:7; Matthew 11:28-30; Ephesians 3: 20-21; Phil. 2:13.

I am counting on the Holy Spirit to cause me to know when I attempt to depend upon my own human resources to live the Christian life.

I choose to yield unconditionally my total being to you as an instrument for you to use any way you want - to me, in me, with me, or through me. I choose to deny myself, and take up my cross daily (death to all that is not of God), and follow you (Luke 9:23).

Lord, I praise and thank you for making "Christ as my life" real to me in experience.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen

Free In Christ Jesus our Lord & Savior, as the Father would have it.
