Well, crap! I"m having a load of trouble with this new format. Every time I post, there are two blank posts preceding it. This time, I spent about an hour pouring out my heart as to the music that I love and now it's lost.
Suffice it say: music is like food, color and men. I can't decide on just one and stick with it.

What kind of music really touches your heart?
Okay, so this is the sort of sentimentally phrased question I usually can't respond to without feeling foolish. But, if we're talking about music that resonates on some deeper (spiritual?) level, I have to admit that there are some songs that send shivers up and down this cynical atheist's spine (in a good way). One is "Hallelujah," by Leonard Cohen, which, unfortunately, most people will know from the movie Shrek. Oh well.

It's after 1 in the morning. Can't sleep, so I thought I'd check this site.
JamesThomas: went to the site you mentioned but wasn't able to listen to any of the songs. Would love to hear it. Have never heard of Dana Cunnningham. I really like certain jazz, especially piano. Used to listen to Herbie Mann, Chuck Mangione. Haven't listened to them for so long. When you posted, it reminded me. Some may think this post is just fluff, but I can't imagine life without music. It's gotten me thru a lot of bad times.

I gotta say some of the elvis gospel songs or are you lonesome tonight stuff like that . I think the righteous brothers unchained melody . Also a big fan of blues .

I can't imagine life without music. It's gotten me thru a lot of bad times.

I'm with you on that. At some of the roughtest spots in my life, music was what got me through, maybe the only thing. It has such incredible power.
