Can you eat blood now?

  I have no trouble with transfusions to save peoples lives but recently we went to a wedding and one of my little lads had been up to the buffet and come back with a plate of food, on it was little circles of black pudding (blood sausage), he didnt know what it was (I have never brought it home so he hasnt seen it before) but just threw it on his plate anyway. While he wasnt looking I took it off and threw it away! Couldnt bring myself to let him eat it and I still couldnt eat it because of the background in JWs.

  Could you eat it? with a clear conscience?

  I have no desire to eat blood. I grew up around blood sausage and it grossed me out nor do I see myself as a Masai drinking milk and blood together. The vast majority of the people I live among now feel the same way.

  ugh, never heard of that before!

  Black pudding is in every butchers in England, its used at almost every wedding and party. It must taste good since its so in demand.

  the german blut-wurst is excellent. the french boudin is yummy, fried in a pan, with onions and applesauce.... hmmmmmmm....

  Actually, besides JWs, Jews, Seventh Day Adventists, and Muslims do not eat blood in their food, as well as a large group known as vegetarians.

  i wont eat blood, but it has nothing to do with my jw background, and a lot to do with my gag reflexes.

  I have no conscience issues about blood transfusions. Having said that however, I could not bring myself to eat blood sausage, blood pudding or haggis. Not because of any moral objections, but just the thought of eating blood leaves me a bit queasy.

  I was offered it in China: like Dubla said, the "gag factor" won out. I quickly told my girlfriend 'absolutely not', but tell our hosts it is a religious prohibtion. That was accepted.

  I gulped the "drunken shrimp" (live shrimp swimming in chili sauce) down with a glass of beer; the fried snake was not bad; the chicken feet reminded me of that rubberized coating the miltary puts on binoculars; the duck skull was mama-fufu (so-so).
