OK, as in 'my wife's old congregation'.
She moved to mine when we got married but she has never felt particularly 'welcomed' so we always refer to her old hall (which her parents are still at) as 'her congregation'.

Xandit: We are still waiting for your reply. No one is going to be hostile to you. We would just like some clarification. I was wondering what happened to you. You never did give me a response to my reply to your request for that statement from the Society. I was wondering what you thought about it.

I don't know how "good" your sources of information are but I have personal experience in Kingdom Hall property matters, some quite recent. In the US in every case that I have any knowledge of it has been either a corporation or board of trustees. While my knowledge is not universal I have pretty good coverage for this country. Those are the standard arrangements for Kingdom Hall property in the US. I don't know where these other people got their information. I suppose there may be some variance from country to country.
It would not surprise me if the Organization had used holding companies to purchase Assembly Hall property. I would however, be very surprised if that was being done for Kingdom Halls, the local congregation is typically on its own there.
Frankly this stuff about the offshore holding companies being safer "when the persecution begins' strikes me as fantasy. Who would care at that point anyhow.
Let me make one thing clear, no one here scares me. I answer when, how and if I choose, if you don't like it that's your problem.

Well, gee, Xandit,
Didn't mean to insult you - I was actually making fun of my friend, Frenchy. I knew he was good natured and could take some "ribbing."
Obviously, you can't. Sorry.
Thank you for qualifying your information. If I understand you correctly, the cases you have been involved in - the elders were formed into a corporation for their own KH, or a board of trustees for their own KH, and the WTBTS name is no where on the deed?
So, like the case in Texas, if the local elders in any cong. wanted to break away from the WTBTS, they would have the freedom to do so, with the building and land - seeing that the locals had full ownership of the KH that they bought, built, and maintained.
Sounds proper to me - I appreciate your clearing that up for me.
Frankly, this stuff about the offshore holding companies being safer "when the persecution begins' strikes me as fantasy. Who would care at that point anyhow.
Seeing that we believe in an unseen God, unseen Devil, unseen legions of angels, unseen legions of demons, unseen ruling class of 144,000, unseen wars in heaven, and for the most part, an unseen Governing Body, some could argue that fantasy was a normal part of our existence.
Let me make one thing clear, no one here scares me.

Xandit: This is a discussion board and when people post questions or comments it goes without saying that a response is forthcoming. It's also assumed that when an answer is made to your question that you will comment on it.
You posted:. I answer when, how and if I choose, if you don't like it that's your problem.
Just so I understand your intent here for future reference...Do you mean to say that if you don't like the answer then you won't acknowledge it? This is what is usually known as a 'hit and run'. You post a question that you feel exemplifes your position or view of a matter and then when you get an answer you totally didn't expect and to which you have no reply then you simply keep away from the board for a while.
You are perfectly welcome to do this if that is what you like. No one here is denying you this. It's just that if you have no intention of defending your views then I won't waste time replying to your questions and/or comments. I would simply like to know what your intentions are. That's all.-Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it-

For Frenchy,
Every time someone starts that "it goes withou saying" routing it's just an attempt to impose a personal view or standard on someone else. I frankly am indifferent to whether you reply to or read my comments or what you would like or not like.
For Waiting,
I'm glad my comment is clearer. Interesting remark on fantasy, I hadn't considered it in that light. I'll only say that in many years in the organizaiton I've only heard one semioffical remark on making some sort of physical or legal preparation for "the persecution" and that was by a nut case ciruit overseer speaking strictly on his own bat. Not only does the referenced comment seem unreal to me I don't know of any way an offshore holding company would make physical property more secure, if anything it would be less secure. It's always easier to get legislation through to seize foreign held assets as opposed to seizing assets held by citizens.
