Nah, what I couuld see them do is open up the "earthly hope" back to the first century. Sort of back date it to clear up their numbers. That way they can turn a negative into a positive and proclaim how Jehovah is really blessing their work with more "anointed" brothers and sisters in these treacherous last days.
Either that or they'll use an eraser.
i think some new lite is comming up. There is a watchtower study article in the near future about it.

If a large group PURPOSELY partook, you can rest assured that the elders would only count with "discernment".

PS this is all prophesied throught Isaiah and the other prophetic books. they are the modern day pharisees, The pharisees rejected Jesus, because they were so uppity and proud, and the common people were sinful peons that deserved stoning.
The Governing Body is prophesied to reject the true anointed (who always eventually leave the ORG, because the GB is full of pride, their shallow love, and their unreachableness, (I wonder how many phone calls they have rejected, how many letters they tossed in the trash?}

You know what? It just occured to me, that there was this one sister from Atlantic Canada. She was reached via the door-to-door ministry, and eventually became a full fledged Jehovah's Witness.
I found out later, she was of the annointed.
I mean, she was only in her late 30s or early 40s.
Then there was this other brother, had a pretty interesting and wild past, and he claimed he was of the annointed as well. He was, I think, in his 30s.
I always used to think it was old-timers that were of the annointed.
But I was told that things were decided by Jehovah god and that these individuals were particularly inspired by God's holy spirit.
Anyways...the years and numbers must be dwindling.
Interesting topic. I vaguely remember the number of the annointed left was something like several thousand at one time (late 70s early 80s).

Razor, none of these young people could have been of the anointed class. I know of a young 20 something year old that suddenly believed he was going to heaven. This was right after it was expressed that his elder father sexually abused him.
Minimus, it seemed rather bizarre and unusual. But how could this be? I mean, that these people would claim to be annointed?
Or would they have been spoken to? This was back in the early 1980s.
I knew the names of the two people (I won't use it here).
Just confused, not that it makes a lot of difference, but I am wondering what the society's position would have been regarding a younger brother/sister partaking (Annointed).
