Yes
All of the above.

Sure. I would consider myself much stronger and better off after leaving. I now choose my friends, activities, areas of work, etc without having to worry whether or not it is approved.

There are many times when I'm glad I left it, and many times when I think it was too early to pull out. When being liberated from a controlling person or organization, you get many alternating highs and lows from defecting. I get a high from not having anybody controlling me anymore. But I get a new burden, the burden of controlling myself without having anybody to back me up. I never learned how to do it, and it's a bitch to learn, but I'm slowly learning it. And when I learn how to control myself and to adjust to the outside world, I will have a full life. It's similar to what the Iraqis are facing right now. Right now, they're free, but they haven't yet learned how to work with their freedoms yet, and now they're in anarchy. But as time goes on, they will become the prosperous nation they have the potential to become, and with the right decisions by their new government, they could possibly become a giant economic power.

I'm not a stronger person, I'm a freeer person. Is that a word?
I always had a foot in the world and a foot in the kingdom hall. I only stopped dreaming of living in a perfect world. That song made me realize that I was dreaming of living in a perfect world.
Perfect World
Huey Lewis & The News
(Alex Call)
Everybody's dreamin' 'bout a perfect world
Where you could have everything your heart desires
A perfect boy will meet a perfect girl
And their perfect love will set the world on fire
Well what you gonna do, when one and one makes three
And a vision of the future is impossible to see
Nobody's perfect, not even a perfect fool,
But if you'll have faith in me
I'll keep the faith with you
Ain't no livin' in a perfect world
There ain't no perfect world anyway
Ain't no livin' in a perfect world
But we'll keep on dreamin' of livin' in a perfect world
Keep on dreamin' of livin' in a perfect world
Everybody's got secrets, now you know that it's true
They talk about me and they'll talk about you
Something happens to the pledges of trust
Down through the years they begin to rust
Now here we are amid the tears and the laughter
Still waiting for our happily ever after
We'll keep on dreamin' as long as we can
Try to remember and you'll understand
Ain't no livin' in a perfect world
There ain't no perfect world anyway
Ain't no livin' in a perfect world
But we'll keep on dreamin' of livin' in a perfect world
Keep on dreamin' of livin' in a perfect world -

I wish my learning the truth about the troof, and my knee-jerk reaction of mailing off a DA letter, hadn't all happened in such a short span. So in some ways I'm still kind of reeling from it all. Some days are good, some aren't.

Well I just left 2 months ago, so right now at times it can get pretty difficult.
