Kurt Cobain - miss him, when he died, I was stunned, and was speechless. I was in a state of shock.
Jimi Hendrix - I was little when he died, but got into his stuff later, and I do like it. When I went to the Rock & Roll Music Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio - there was a display of his works: I have never seen handwriting as crafted and beautiful as Jimi's.
John Lennon - I was getting ready to leave for my high school that cold December 1980 morning, when I saw this on the morning television news. It was very strange. Some of the teachers at school were so sad.
Jim Morrison - loved that voice. But what a mess he was. Sad, so many musicians died of overdoses of one sort or another.
Falco - Austrian singer, died in a car crash. He used to visit Toronto often, and he was well liked here. He did the song: Der Kommisar, Vienna Calling and a few more and one called: Jeannie, which was (if I'm correct) based on a true story of a young woman who was murdered.
Klaus Nomi - could you get any man to sing higher notes?? He was unusual, freakish looking, but opera-trained and was actually quite funny. One of the first performers to die of AIDS back in the early 1980s. I believe he was originally from Germany.
George Harrison - taken early by cancer. What a pity.
Too many to name, but these are a few I can think of, off the top of my head.
