To mention somebody who has just come back from the dead, the great Arthur Lee is back on the road after a long stint in prison and has reformed some members of 'Love' for a 35th Anniversary tour. The one that hit me hardest was Stevie Ray Vaughan. I guess that's because unlike so many others that crashed and burned, from all accounts he actually turned his life around.

Minnie Riperton - she died too young. I saw her grave while I was in LA a few years ago. I thought of that beautiful song "Lovin You."

Nina Simone - I have to say I didn't know who was until that really bad movie with Bridget Fonda a few years ago where she plays an assasin. That was her code name when she got a job to do: "Nina."

Karen Carpenter - as I have said in other threads, the best voice I have ever heard in my opinion.
