Back to OP's question ... what's changed?
Well, the biggest thing would be all the lawsuits for child sexual abuse! There has been the ARC which is well documented, and investigations currently underway in the UK, USA, Canada and Mexico(?) and I believe individual cases in some European countries too.
There's a big drive on shunning; even if you are not DF'd or DA'd - just faded.
Finally; the Org is still crying poverty and on the scrounge for donations - no change there!
