What the atheist is fundamentally saying is that he has infinite knowledge of this universe
Actually that's what theists say. To believe in god you are making massive assertions about our universe with zero evidence. Atheists have the intelligence and humility to "say I don't know" when its warranted. That's how we learn, progress and discover.
What intelligent designer made god?
God is the First Cause.
Oh wait have we established which god we are talking about yet? No? OK
I only accept the Catholic concept of God.
God is the First Cause.
why?
because a bunch of bronze age goat herders said so?
Sorry if you were being sarcastic and I didn't catch it lol
Because a first cause is a logical necessity.
Infinite regress is logically impossible.
The first cause of the physical universe is the Big Bang.
The cause of the Big Bang is metaphysical.
The first metaphysical cause is God.
The first metaphysical cause is God.
1 god? 2 gods? Millions of gods? what about a computer program? Ancient transdimensional aliens? Where do you put the goal post for "God"? How would you define "God"? Was the big bang caused by dimensional membranes of a multiverse bumping into each other?
The cause of the Big Bang is metaphysical.
If you can prove this, you will be the most famous, rich, popular person in the universe! Please provide the evidence
This thread will now proceed to many pages of Roman Catholic dogma. The words metaphysical and Sola scriptura will be repeated endlessly. Every request for evidence will be dismissed with an accusation of scientism.
I suggest we stick to the theological assumptions intended by the OP.
If god exists the following is true.................
If you can prove this, you will be the most famous, rich, popular person in the universe! Please provide the evidence.
It's already mathematically proved by Einstein.
The singularity is the point "where" all physical laws collapse (including space and time).
Metaphysics = beyond physics.
So the cause of the singularity must be metaphysical.
I suggest we stick to the theological assumptions intended by the OP.
Evidently.
