As I have noted, this will be like an albatross round their necks for eternity, practising for something that does not happen, ever, but which clearly shows how wrong the GBs direction on the tribulation is, it will not happen but these videos will show clearly how misguided the rank and file were and how manipulated by their leaders. As yet no hint of throwing all your money Walkills way while it still has value before the 'tribulation' destroys money, but I am pretty sure that's coming, don't waste those funds, send them to us to use NOW while money has a value, and we need more smart watches and things we can buy before system goes out of business!

Like many things discussed on forums like this, let's not confuse our perception of a WTS scenario with how the WTS and the faithful see it.
As WiFiBandit says, the WT has never termed it "bunker", it's simply a representation of how the WTS speculate things could be if Witnesses are under ban or otherwise restricted. TBH, meeting discretely and in secret has been a feature of their work in a number of lands over the years where Witnesses have been persecuted - this simply is set in a US house basement bringing it home to us softies in the West that this is what could happen.
Of course, it's fear mongering and playing up to the narrative they have around Armageddon etc. but it's not really much more than them showing how groups would have some kind of designated place to meet in the event of a severe crackdown and be under the responsibility of their group overseer.

I think it is supposed to portray a typical American "basement" rather than a "bunker".
The videos are known colloquially as "bunker videos" to highlight the stupidity of them.
There are masked, armed storm troopers kicking down the doors of every house in the neighborhood - and these guys are hiding in a basement? They ought to be in a "bunker" - but they are "relying on Jehovah" and just sitting around waiting for the bad guys to find them.

I remember distinctly after seeing this video at the RC whispering to my (still in) wife, "Why do the witnesses need to hide out in bunkers or basements? Doesn't jehober "protect" his loyal ones? I guess the ones in the bunker were not loyal enough."

Everyone wants to feel special I suppose. JW's lap this stuff up. I did as well as many of us here. i sometimes ask myself why in hindsight. I think its just that it was exciting, and I felt special. I don't know.
Of course the amount of questions a thinking person would ask themselves while watching this is a long list indeed. But if you do that......you are just "FAULT FINDING". Big independent thinking red flag that is.
