Ya iggy I'm gonna vouch for James too. never met him but he knows about our some of local stuff because he's around my neck of the woods.
Blondie, Yes Gadsden and Anniston are close to each other. I have family there and went to school there for a while. Kinda blows my mind that RF was there during the time I was spending time there. I was not even remotely involved with any JW at the time.
WingCommander: I remember so many beloved JW's of old while I was a child growing up in the 80's. They all basically said the same thing, that The End just HAS to come before they die. They were sure. Positive. It was imminent, because the WT Society said so. Guess what? They're all DEAD. ALL of them.
I remember many like that, too. They really were sure. And the ones I knew were smart and well-read. Their influence is one of the main things that motivated me. One kept saying "The end is imminent; it's imminent." He and all the others are long dead.
The end was "imminent" to that particular JW 25 years ago. If there's going to be an end, it seems further away now than it did when he said it was imminent. That JW didn't live to see the current "generation" teaching. If he had, I'd love to know what he thought about it. He could be honest at times.
The Watchtower Corporation evermore so is seen as a commercialized joke or a con job for the gullible, ignorant and naive.
Maybe that's why its leaders are curtailing much of the operations of this religious publishing house as a forwarding means to sustain itself from all those false anchoring and pretentious doctrines, which the leaders insisted that it was all approved and given by god's guiding holy spirit toward his earthly FDSL..
Hence " The Meat in Due Season " was tainted with corruptly devised self indulgent commercialism.
