I don't represent everyone and it does work for some - but every single JW homeschooled kid I came across growing up in the UK was seriously odd - the parents were even odder.

I know some homeschooled kids who are exceptional. Not JWs. And the parents were SERIOUS about homeschooling.

Most homeschooled JW kids with whom I am acquainted are NOT exceptional. Many just went through the motions of homeschooling. Field Circus was Field Trips. Meeting preparation was "reading". TMS talks was "speech class". I'd say at least half did take and pass a GED. Since none went on to college, it has been all they needed. All are in basic manual labor work fields. Some just getting by. Some in union trades and doing great financially.

Big difference in home schooling and online school. Online has a curriculum and real teachers. Some teachers are "woke" though. College credit courses are common.

Interaction with peers, exposure to attractive opposite gender, and such is lacking. Sports is offered as a part time student at local schools.

OTH a youngster here could not read a scripture at the door at age 12. Mom directed schooling. Worst part is she lost her looks by 20 so will not be a catch.

You are right. These days online learning is completely valid. My friend referred to his kids education as home-schooling but online learning would be more accurate.

However, the reason JW parents choose this option is not for the benefit of their kids but is another way to avoid reality.

I agree with you that many JWs homeschool their children to avoid reality and isolate their children from society in general.

While it is possible for homeschooling to be a success - it is a rarity in the Witnesses. Successful homeschooling usually involves very dedicated parents who are usually educated themselves. Too many Witnesses end up grossly ignorant and barely literate after homeschooling.. It is like they were brought up in a broom closet.

At least somebody who went to public school got exposure to real education with qualified teachers. They also picked up useful things about the world they live in and interacting with the human race.
