Hello, this is all very new to me. I come from a catholic background, but most recently had been with the churches of Christ.
I have contacted my local congregation and will be talking with someone tomorrow, hopefully setting a study up for next week. I want to study scripture, but also want to immerse myself in everything JW publishes. The more I learn the better.

Hi Rob, I greatly appreciate your comment, "The more I learn the better." Just remember that the purpose of education is to learn how to think, not what to think.
So why would you want to "study" with Jehovah's Witnesses. They are a high-control, authoritarian group that uses undue influence and coercion to control and manipulate their members. All Watchtower publications are designed to indoctrinate readers into unquestioning acceptance of their peculiar beliefs.
They demand extreme obedience to the group even over family relationships. You should avoid this group, as well as any and all others that exhibit cult-like behaviors.

Just to let you know it will be hard for you to immerse yourself in everything JW publishes.
They will only give you what is currently out now.
This is because the many many root dogma has changed through the years.
Books that were published as Truth just a few years ago are know eliminated, for new Truth.
See this happens all the time with the Watchtower.
Go to Wikapedia and check their history of false prophecies, changing policy and changing beliefs.
JWFacts.com is great since it puts it all in one place too.

What denomination did you guys end up in? Or are you not going anywhere?
You need some mental cleaning. It takes years and a lot of study, yes, deep biblical studies. Go to your library and find some books on the Bible studies written by the people who know the Bible, bible scholars.
By the way, there are some decent Catholic bible scholars. They just never tell you what they know in your Sunday mass. For a good reason, the stuff they keep from you is the stuff that will drive you away from mass. It's your job to find out what that is.
