Proplog, I believe you are serious. If NYC was destroyed, the capital of God's earthly Kingdom, in Brooklyn would be protected.
Is It Possible To See A Bethel Uprising In The Future?

Mary
It's possible that once these old goats of the GB members finally die, the younger ones might possibly, somewhere down the road, be willing to change a few things, but I can't see anything major happening.
Doctrines such as 1914, Jesus returning "invisibly", the F&DSC "authority", Armageddon being right around the corner, field service and 5 meetings a week are all the cornerstone of this religion. For them to officially change any of them would be paramount to the Catholic Church changing their doctrines on the Trinity, Mass, Hellfire or the Virgin Mary - it most likely ain't never gonna happen.
Whenever there has been discontent in a religion, even if it's the majority who speak, those in charge of church policy generally refuse to change, even when the facts are staring them straight in the face. Why is this? Because most religious leaders have their flock convinced that THEY have some sort of special connection to God where He "reveals" things to them and them alone. For the flock to rise up and say "we want change", even though they may be 100% correct, is an attack on the authority of church leaders and this is something they will not tolerate. If they cave once to pressure from the flock, then that would mean the average joe was running things, not church leaders and if history tells us anything, it's that those with authority over other people will do ANYTHING to hold on to that power, up to and including eliminating those that they deem as a threat to their power structure.
Look at the Mormon Church? Many years ago, alot of Mormons didn't agree with certain doctrines and there was "rebellion." Did the Church leaders listen? Absolutely not and many broke away and formed church offshoots, like "The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."
Look at the Catholic Church? During the Middle Ages, there were those who didn't agree with alot of the doctrines and church policies. Martin Luther nailed these to the Church door. Did the Catholic Church listen? No way. As a result, you had offshoots of the Catholic Church.
Within the Borg, the present Governing Body members are fanatical about their power and control over the flock. Look what happened when Ray Franz, one of their own suggested change. And despite public humiliation over the Pedophile scandal, the Governing Body still refuse to budge and have disfellowshipped countless brothers and sisters who voiced their concern over children's welfare within the Organization. This is actually the only thing I can ever see changing, simply because Caesar's Law will eventually force them to change.
Other than that, nothing will move these men to shame. They don't give a damn about the R&F Witness at all; the only thing that matters is the power and control they like to exert, so my answer is "no, I can't see that any uprising at Bethel would change anything at all."

The trouble with a revolution is that it does not change the "hearts and minds" of the population. I wouldn't put much store in waiting for the revolution. But there is something........
The Borg have traditionally crowed that the "waters of Babylon" would dry up signifying diminishing support for Babylon the Great.
It seems to me that this prophecy of theirs may come true....but they, the WTS, would be the victims.
Without support, the WTS will wither. That is where the focus should be IMO.

No, not an uprising - it may not be necessary, anyway.
Bethel, as the headquarters of the organization, is threatened by individuals quietly rebelling or defecting.
They are threatened by individual liability issues - because lawyers see "deep pockets" if any Bethelite gets in trouble.
They are threatened by the possibility of another Ray Franz defection - except that they are much more vunerable now,
given lawsuits and the internet. I have said before - it is possible that ONE PERSON WITH EVIDENCE AND A CONSCIENCE
could bring the Watchtower Society crashing down - particularily in regard to the blood transfusion fraud and the pedophile issue,
to a lesser extent.
The organization seems monolithic and invunerable - like the former Soviet Union - but don't be fooled.
If they're not lying awake at night, frightened of what happens next
they're fools. I can't see how the current situation is stable - with undefended doctrine, internal malaise, internet exposure,
lawsuits, growing liability and an elderly, blinded leadership. Look how far we've come in just a few years of internet activity
and imagine what another 5 years will produce.

One thing the Watchtower has in its favor is the "invisible, spiritual" things that no one can say is untrue. Jesus was King of the Kingdom in 1914 and in 1918 the holy ones went to heaven. That sounds so stupid it isn't even funny. But you can't prove that nothing happened in heaven or fot that matter Saturn.....I think that the R&F are mostly uncomfortable with disfellowshipping and blood. These things could affect them.

Room 215
Yese Minimus, but what are they going to do about 2014, less than 11 years away? There are a few liberal-minded senior staffers, several of whom are involved with Writing, but the die-hard apparachiks in the Service Dept. led by the Darth Vader-like Jaracz, have held them in check thus far. But calender and the clock are eroding their credibility, one tick at a time.

Right now, I agree with Mary's observations. She made some excellent points.

I re-read Happyman's post and I still don't understand it. Could anyone please interpret what he said?

My wifey and I talking the other day.....in a few years the WBTS will be embracing and extolling many concepts, principles, and dynamics that got many of us shunned. At that time the mantra will be " To bad ol' so and so couldn't have waited on God's organization for the new light ".
