He still hasn’t learnt Croatian? Will he plan to grow old in that country and when he next goes to hospital he will be one of those grumpy middle aged men who say to all the doctors and nurses “ these lazy foreigners haven’t learnt English yet”

Presumably there are conventions in Zagreb every year. A special convention is just a convention with the word special in front of it. There will be a few extra people from elsewhere. I don’t know if that necessarily includes a GB member these days. Plus it will be in Croatian and LE apparently doesn’t speak Croatian.
THERE WILL BE ABOUT SIX SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS NEXT YEAR. Zagreb is going to be a big deal.

Seriously? Why would you move to a country and not learn the language?
It's called being lazy and not respecting others enough to learn their language, even when you are a migrant into their country.
It shows the attitude he had deep down to his own (ex)wife and her parents too, that he would move to their home and live there for more than 10 years and not even bother to pick up basic conversational Croatian.
Actually, the "special" conventions are a sort of big deal - in JW terms, at least. As pointed out, there's only usually a handful of them in the world each year compared to the dozens of others, and they are "international" where invited delegates from other countries come over and, as suggested, probably a GB member will be there. So if Zagreb gets to host one next year that will be significant for the Croatian JW community.
However, by next year LE might not even cover it at all, since he can barely be bothered to keep up with JW life any more now. His "activism" doesn't make him the money it used to and he can't use it to get the status and control he once did, so he's no longer really motivated.

Is it a “special” convention or an “international” convention in Zagreb? Because they are classed as two different things, as explained in a recent video.
Special conventions: happen every year in around 15 locations worldwide and have slightly bigger venues than regular conventions, 10-20,000 in attendance, including 2-3000 foreign delegates from around the world
International conventions: happen every 5 years, with 20,000+ (or 30-40,000, visual and scripts differ) in attendance, 5000 delegates from around the world
It’s not explained in the video whether “special” as well as international conventions regularly have GB members in attendance, which is perhaps the most relevant factor for making is a big deal or not.

Anyway I can see him making a song and dance around the special international convention right on his doorstep next year.
but these days all the attendants have so much training on what to look out for and I suspect they will have his picture not to let him in.
i went to attendants training again this year and now it’s a couple of days of videos and talks after the bombs and shootings.
there is a sweep morning and evening looking for anything dodgy. Old neck beard is definitely dodgy looking and will no way be getting in unless a really good disguise

FWIW There is a poster who posts on this thread occasionally who went to the Wilmslow congregation with Lloyd. Lloyd himself confirmed (on X) that he did when this fellow took a selfie with Kim Silvio in front of the Wilmslow hall.
He has stated that he knows the true identity of “Geoffrey”, the girl in question, and expressed his view that they will eventually come out and talk about what Lloyd did - such was their anger at him.
In a footnote in TRA, Lloyd stated that Geoffrey was removed as an elder in 2014. So there could be some fire that results from all this smoke
Could we all have a whip round and try to get crowd funding to locate these people?

If they don't want to be bothered, it doesn't make much sense. On the one hand, it sucks-- it allows predators to get away with horrific acts. And if he did do what some have hinted at, he deserves to be buried for it.
But, in spite of intentions, it can also be a way to hurt the victims again. And --with no guarantee that it will result in justice being done-- you might be harrassing innocent people for no tangible gain. Let's leave them alone.
