The Inherent Founding Paganism of the Jehovah's Witnesses

There is an inherent founding association with paganism through and by the founding leader of the Watchtower Corporation that has to be realized and accepted as such. C T Russell was once the head editorial writer for the WTS. right up until his death in 1916. Russell had associated himself with Freemasons for awhile, giving talks at Freemason Halls and handing out literature he published at the same time.

He made up more or less a commercialized version of the Gospel based upon a new era for mankind which he calculated by measuring the dimensions of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

This new era or " Golden Era " occurred because the supposed End of the Gentile Times, (firstly dated to 1874 then 1914 ) and the return of Christ to establish his promised and prophesied New Kingdom.

After his death the person who took over the WTS J Rutherford dropped the Pyramidology teaching but still held to the date of 1914 as a profound significance mostly likely to fact it was still thought to be advantageous toward drawing attention to the organization and the literature the WTS published under his direction and control. The Watchtower, Golden Age and the Awake magazine were all focused upon this supposed compelling new era of the End Times or This Generation " and millions of pieces of literature were made and distributed with this new era doctrinal teaching at its foundational core.

It wasn't until recently due to the easy access of information via the inter-net that this inherent pagan rooted dating by the WTS was avaible for the general public to see.

The WTS had built and survived itself upon its own self devised commercialized version of the Gospel to directly support the proliferation of the literature the WTS published .

Today's leaders of the WTS have now the difficult task to white wash over those staid doctrines (1914) which the organization was founded upon, that supposed new era for mankind well that didn't really happen either.

The Jehovah's Witness religion was really founded and created upon a pretentious commercialized fraud that got started and was rooted from out the pagan symbolism of an Egyptian Pyramid..

"The Jehovah's Witness religion was really founded and created upon a pretentious commercialized fraud that got started and was rooted from out the pagan symbolism of an Egyptian Pyramid."

Yes, the religion that became - with Rutherford - so vociferously anti-pagan, was steeped through and through in paganism.

If JW organization were appraising its own earlier background and viewing it as the background of another religious group and not its own, it would waste no time in ruthlessly exposing the pagan origins in much of Chuck Russell's work, "reasoning" and conclusions.

Funny how they turn a big blind eye to Chuck's schemes and pyramidology, instead branding themselves as being "spiritually clean" and separate from the "churches of Christendom".

    Utter hypocrites.

I'm sorry but you're all totally ignoring the loophole that is 'new light'.

True steve2, they even praise Russell and call him brother Russell.

Reflecting back though what the WTS has been doing for over 140 years creates an honestly structured identification of a false religion by using the bible's own standards.

So did Jehovah choose this organization in 1919 because its truthful bible based teachings ? I think not, the only era that really occurred was the era of religious charlatanism by freewheeling unregulated opportunistic men in America, which was started in the mid 1800's and still exists today in organizations like the JWS.

But if that new light comes from the top of a pagan Pyramid at its source you still have a pretentious " New Light "

Yeah, but if you take all the old books out of the congregation library then it never happened, right?

It has helped to be noted but there's that problem of the inter-net, maybe the WTS can shut down the entire inter-net just to leave open JWorg.com.

Many including myself didn't know of what the WTS was involved in, really how could we without the inter-net ?

It was mentioned a few times that those old WTS publications were kept behind a locked door in storage at Bethel HQ, so even new recruits couldn't see them.

The Net is a formidable problem for the GB to deal that's why they have taken strong counter measures to overcome the information readily available on it.

It doesn't have such a problem from many rank and file because you'll hear them say, "Oh the organization's changed a lot over the years due to Jehovah's holy spirit". Etc.

There are a few deeper thinkers here and there who try to reconcile its history and teachings with "truth" and who realize its a hopeless task. These are in the minority. As I've said over the years, it is not apostates who cause problems for the organization - it's straight out apathy. Most JWs are disinclined to think for themselves or do research. It suits them fine that the organization does it all for them.

Good point steve2 and when its realized how much fear the WTS instills into the minds of its members to not be investigative critical further adds to the point why most members do not.

I'm not shy about criticizing the JW's, but there are a few things to keep in mind when doing so:

Russell did not come up with or calculate the 1914 date himself. He was not its author. He borrowed it lock, stock and barrel from Nelson Barbour

At no time did the Bible Student / JW movements ever teach that 1874 was the end point of the, "Gentile Times."

Russell's fascination with pyramidology is very humorous today, but it came decades after the 1914 prediction and therefore at best, was only a corroborative line of evidence. It was never the basis for the date.

The cultural fascination with Egyptology at the time is very well documented and not nearly as out of place as it would seem today, The art deco movement, which followed abounds with the same pagan symbols.
