The Freight Forwarder tells me that a LAWYER (who should know better and should have checked first) called her up after putting down 25K$ and asked her if one of these situations was a scam!!!!

Most anybody is likely to fall for it. It seems the Bankers and the Freight people are the ones that get to see others mistakes firsthand. So, they have more knowledge than the rest of us.

But, apparently, I have informed some of them of several schemes, just as they have helped me. It is best if we all become more educated and PASS IT ON.

$25 mill. scam? Crap, I must not be very special, I only got a Ghanan scam offer for $7mill.

I receive about six Nigerian emails a day at my work computer. I block them, delete them, and the next day there are another six or so. Argh!!!! Of course it is a scam. It is more of a frustration and a nuisance to keep my Inbox cleaned out of the spam I get in a day at work, than anything else.

Mulan, I'm sorry you got taken by this scam...my heart goes out to you. Tough lesson to learn, I'm sure. Nice you had such a caring bank teller, who gave you the heads up.

I got this today, from a hotmail address:

Dear,
This letter might come as a surprise to you,espacilly since we have never
met or discussed before.I know this story might sound strange to you,but it
is factual in in reality.I should have notified you first through a more
confidencial means,at least to respect your integrity.Please accept my
humble apologies if i had caught you unaware, I frankly do not mean any harm
or to embarass you.I only want to know if you can render an urgent
assistance to me and my family.
Though i do not know to what extent you are familier with events and
disturbanses in my country Sierra Leone,but the pressure of war drove me and
my mother out of my country Sierra Leone into exile to Senegal where we have
been living under Political Asylum.
In a nutshell,I am Godwin Mona the son of late Hon Dr. John Mona the
Managing Director of Gold and Diamond Mining corporation (G.D.M.C)Sierra
Leone,But he was killed during the longing civil war and all our properties
was totally destroyed
Following the cease fire agreement which was reach with the help of United
Nation peace keeping troops,I and my mother and my two sisters used the
oppoturnity to leave the country with a very important document of
(US$5.500.000m)Five million five hundred thousands U.S Dollars deposited by
my late father in Finance company in EUROPE under my name.
Meanwhile,I contacted you to assist us transfer this money to your
