Tallyman:well, the judge would've shown a bit better sense of justice
if he'd given the full $8K settlement.

I think the judge was excercising a sense of justice by calculating a reasonable figure that was payable by the defendent, rather than simply enriching the plaintiff. Let's not let hatred for the Borg make us lose site of the fact that DiStefano is simply R&F, following orders. She's a victim of Brooklyn and its mad policies as much as the householder; it was her before the court, not the WBTS, with its bottomless pockets. She took the fall for the Boys in Brooklyn. The judge was quite right to find in favour of the plaintiff, but to limit the financial damage to DiStefano.

The No Trespassing signs were a constant debate in our car groups until a case like this came up and the R&F were left on their own.

So then we knew that if there was a sign and we went anyway, we could not expect any help from the wts. We marked the NT's and gave them to the letter writers.

Regarding the updating of territory cards, I had the misfortune of knocking at a DNC because the territory had been split and the DNC's had not been listed on the card.
(Much later when working the adjoining territory, I noticed my angry foul-mouthed DNC listed on that card......his address wasn't even in that territory.)

Stephanus: yes, I agree with you, the judge was quite fair considerng it was an individual case and not a suit against the corporate entity.

Like I sais, it's refreshing when common sense occasionally rears its head in the wacky world of cultism.

While I'd like to see more of this: ordinary citizens exercising their rights in the face of JWs stepping over the bounds of ordinary moral behaviour and good taste, it might cut both ways. After all there are plenty of stories of being threatened with being shot, and having dogs set upon them even when there is no "No Trespassing" sign; it could make the Dubs really look like the martyrs they claim to be if they were to exercise their own rights in the face of excessive force.

I dunno about dubs taking legal action against householders... how would they justify their intrusion in the first place? They go out and ASK for abuse by their arogant behavior, we've all seen or experienced it.

I don't advocate siccing Rottie and Dobie on the hapless r&f drones. I prefer the intellectual and verbal sawed-off-shotgun to actual firearms. But I sure do understand the frustration of night workers, harried housewives, and other disgruntled folks who just want the wacky cultoids to keep their religion in their pants and quit knocking on doors exposing it to all&sundry... if JWs want to be unmolested, they should try being a WHOLE lot more tactful and sensible. No means 'no' in any language!

When I was preggers with Little Dark, I was restricted to bed rest during the heat of the day. We set up a bed in the front room so I could be in the midst of things. I answered the door one day and it was a JW elder. I told him politely that I had to get off my feet and was really NOT interested. He stood there nattering at me, trying to guilt me with my unborn child's horror-fraught future in the horrible world, reading 'just one more' scripture, nattering, nattering... until finally I just shut the door in his stupid face, left him in mid-natter, and the old idiot had the nerve to try knocking again!

This sort of behavior is why JWs get shot at and screamed at and dogs sicced on them. I doubt a sane judge would believe a JW is just an innocent victim of assault. Most householders could claim temporary insanity by reason of extreme provocation...

Hey, can we just post a NO Jehovah's Witness sign on our door, and then sue them for knocking?

At one time I saw a downloadable 'no JW' sign on the 'net. Had the circle/slash thing around a dude holding a WT I believe...

now I'm off to see if I can find it again...

    hello again, all.

    Some
    any luck calling today?

I've decided to wait till I get my Charitable Planning brochure. I only called yesterday, and maybe they won't sent it to me if I request that they don't call on me ever. I'm going to wait a couple of days, to give them time to send out the brochure first. I'll let you know when I call and what was said.

    peace,
    somebody
