The born-ins to the Borg have never felt the ''real''' meaning of the Holiday Season. Really unfortunate.

The non born-ins into the Borg might get a reminder of what they've given-up by being a witness. Like a wave of nostalgia or something.

    BETH SARIM:

It’s something more than nostalgia that I experienced when I ‘Faded’ from the JW religion years ago and finally spent time with my REAL family after years.

You would have had to feel it to know what I mean. I felt several emotions which included gratitude, relief and a feeling that I fought my way out of a dark place. I also felt a sadness that this was stupidly on my part.. I felt I ‘escaped’ from mental abuse and unnecessary deprivation and joined the human race again.

There is no other way to explain it, but, I am glad it’s in the past.. What a sobering life lesson learned!

The whole argument against Dec 25 is as weak as the argument for it. The Bible literally doesn’t say, it mentions the baby needing to kept warm in an inn/stable which would indicate it definitely wasn’t spring, summer or fall which even winter in the region is warm enough for some people like shepherds to sleep outside, but perhaps not babies.

Luke mentions the conception happening in the 6th month, given the religious connotations of a savior this would likely have been around Purim, somewhere around modern day March, +9 months = November or December time frame, not July-September as the JW speculate. Moreover religious/mythical figures were often conceived on the day on days of importance such as the spring equinox so they would die in order to fit life with the cycle of the sun so again, if you want to put death in March/April, you have to put birth 9 months later.

LHG, that’s just how I felt, and I was a born in. Felt like leaving a dark place, and also a heavy weight lifted off me. Merry Christmas to you! And everyone else, too! 🎄🎄🎄😀😀😀

The REAL reason they don’t want members to celebrate Christmas and other holidays is to keep them away from non-Witness relatives and friends.

no. . .No. . .NO. Remember the cartoon girl that donated her ice cream money to the TOMO III defense fund? It's the money that is spent for presents that would have otherwise gone into WT coffers that they want.

Okay, I am just kind of being a goof today. Definitely not trying to stir up any fine people here, especially you LHG, with my comment. It's just my warped sense of humor coming out on this dandy Friday afternoon.

Christmas is expensive and WT wants one's money and time.

It's often been related that the WT wants peoples' attention and more importantly, money for the contribution boxes.

In Rutherford's day,,,,he probably noticed people having a 'great time' ad he wasn't. He pulled XMAS, and WT has adopted this 'narrative' for decades up until this day. Convenient for them. Probably for Easter,,,,more likely for Birthdays too.

All fun, character building Holidays, but WT needs people's free labour, time and money for the boxes.
