Vidiot - I was impressed when they occassionally said "We don't know". Most of the conjecture they promoted as "insight" should have never been discussed at all - it was purely unfounded speculation. But speculate they did!!! - to the extreme.

I recall brothers I respected saying that "we need to take a position on every issue because we are the only true religion". I thought that created more problems for them as they were forced to reverse themselves twice a day.

Publishers would occasionally write in an actual question (most were just made up at Bethel) and Writing Correspondence would reply after they called God on the red phone for the answer. They made a mockery of divine wisdom, arriving at the most outrageous replies/direction you can imagine. Sadly, their twisted, unscriptural responses often changed lives - for the worse.

    Don't kid yourself.

These days, when they say “we don’t know”, it’s never actually a display of humility or an admission of ignorance …

…it’s to cover their asses after decades of extra-Biblical policies and ideas that turned out to be consistently, embarrassingly, and hilariously wrong.

Honestly, it seems like two-thirds of anything they say now is an attempt at damage control for shit they used to say then.

They repeatedly pray for the governing body in their prayers,,,,who they will likely never, ever meet who are thousands of miles away in New York.

Who likely will never give a shit back about them.

And the ones praying for the governing bodys shun their lifeblood,,blood ties who live just a few blocks away in many cases. Just for believing different.

Fred Franz was a Rhodes Scholar! Also a scholar of ancient Greek!! lol. :)

"He graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1911 and attended the University of Cincinnati, where he studied liberal arts and biblical Greek,[1][5] with the intention of becoming a Presbyterian preacher." (but promptly dropped out and never graduated).

PS; If you graduated from Junior College (2 years), you have more education than the Watchtower's chief theologian and Bible translator.

The Watchtower of October 1, 1984 has an autobiographical article by Karl F Klein, who entered Bethel (Brooklyn) service on March 23, 1925. In this he states that Rutherford later admitted ‘I made an ass of myself’

The Elders' decisions are directed by Holy Spirit and are merely confirming the decisions already made in heaven.
