Jehovah (As Taught By JWs) Offers A Bum Deal

I thought this during my wake up. If you think about it, Jehovahs promise for the faithful is actually a bum deal. Some would even say a con. Think about it:

You live a life denying carnal and/or material pleasures to preach and advertise WT. You're constantly on the watch for Armageddon, looking at world events through WT goggles and seeing everything as either persecution or fulfillment of prophecy. You're required to shun those you love who leave or commit some indiscretion that you aren't even told what it is, and isn't any of your business anyway. You forgo further education, put off your talents and hobbies and instead devote yourself to ministerial training school, pioneer school or some other school which could be abandoned at any time and you're not compensated or thanked for your service.

You may die. But you must keep up all of this right up until death because if you slip at the very end your entire service has been for nought.

And even if you do die and are resurrected, you dont even know if you'll be a eunuch in the new system or if you'll still be married or if you're even capable of love in that way. The first thousand years of your immortal life must be spent smashing up and cleaning up the buildings, disposing of corpses and preaching and teaching. Anthony Morris, Joseph Rutherford and Fred Franz are looking down on you from heaven ruling as kings and priests and most likely dictating what trousers we can wear, if we can have oral sex and how many hours body disposing are we to report on our slips?

You know what this is like? A life insurance scam.

    Nicely put Paley.

Who'd want to live forever with those self righteous, snotty wazzocks anyway?

You know what this is like? A life insurance scam.

And a Property scam, a protection of peadophiles scam, a snare and a racket..............

When the truth is preached, everyone would accept.

However when untruth is preached, it would only create various sects. For example apostle Paul believed his generation would see the New World (1 Cor 10:11) which proved to be untrue.

Jehovahs - to be more exact, the org's promise (and requirements) for the faithful. Corporate diktats.

Much of what the org tells the faithful is not based on scriptures anyway.

Actually, thinking on, even living a life following the borgs rule 100% still wouldn't guarantee you'd get through. It's only a hope remember.

It gets even worse when you think about the billions of people who live their lives just as they see fit, and die at least 0.1 second before the big A comes.

They'll be ressurected too. Or so the fantasy goes.

They'll have the exact same reward as faithful JW who made their own life hell for their Dog.

As I have said, I can't care less about any religious belief that promotes spending this life working on earning the next. That has never made sense to me at all.

That "probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger" caveat and the re-testing after the 1000 year reign ticked me off even when I was a believer. Once I walked away, I figured if god wanted to punish me after 42 years of "faithful service", so be it. I wouldn't want to live forever with a god like that anyway.

    SAIL AWAY:

I never liked that scripture either. Imagine! Somebody knocks themselves out for a whole lifetime and they're just getting a "maybe".

I wonder if thats the real interpretation of that scripture or if the Witness religion changed it a bit to keep their followers worried! Whatever you do is not enough. Very depressing.

I am a longtime "fader" and I always felt the way you feel about this and that supposed "test" after the 1,000 years.
