    BETH SARIM:

I just looked him up and, yes, he’s the one who got billed for lunch.

I watched three short videos of his ‘laying off’ from bethel. How INTERESTING that when he was talking to an elder about what happened to him - he was instructed to keep it quiet and not tell anybody! (What goes on at bethel stays in bethel.) Meanwhile there were young brothers who wanted to ask him all about bethel.

The religion apparently doesn’t want people to know there are layoffs or any unpleasantness going on and if you are unhappy about how you were treated.

This was nine years ago and I hope he’s doing okay now.

When I was in the JW religion I got the sense all was not well at bethel. When someone came back from there they were tight-lipped and didn’t say much and you couldn’t get anything out of them. That was a red flag to me, not that I ever would have wanted to go to bethel.

    LHG;

That is all done by design

    There's a reason for this "tight-lippedness"'.

Ha! That is nothing knew. Just ask Keith Cassernova. His "New Boy" series/book details out exactly what they expect you to say/do after being "sent out to the Field Work" (AKA: given the boot) from "God's House."

Keith was told the same thing. Only talk positively about Bet-HELL to ensure that young people aspire to want to go there and work as slaves. It's really something how these heartless grifters operate.

    Ahhhh yes!!!

I have Keith's book. He outlines beautifully how unceremoniously you are welcomed to bethel.

And on the flip side how unceremoniously you are um,,,,,let go.

And all the drama,,backstabbing,,, politics & infighting in between....

they are cutting back all the time now as they dont want to be caught out as they were in 2012 when they sold 20 bethels in central america off.

In these days of connectivity, do they even need national Bethels anymore? Especially now that printing is on the way out and what little is still being done was outsourced by a lot of the Bethels to other countries anyway. It's conceivable that everything could happen in New York with some very minimalistic branch offices that co-ordinate the management of Kingdom Halls and CO activity.

The only lessening of WT activity that I feel a bit sad about is that they got rid of their own farms. I thought it was kind of nice that they actually provided for the people who worked for them in that way. That being said, I doubt being a Bethelite on the farm was any less lousy than being in Brooklyn Heights. I've noticed that we can get testimonies from exes who worked in the city Bethel, but there aren't many equivalent stories from people who worked within the organisation on the farms. Are there any?

If congregations tried to do what happened in Menlo park in 2010,,,, a suburb in San Francisco,,, the Borg can simply now do a cash & grab and sell the kh's because they can. The Borg now has all rights to the assembly halls & khs.

Should there be a resistance,,,,or a revolt with what happened in Menlo park USA those years ago.

I thought about this a bit more. Since the advent of the internet, there is no excuse to be in the dark about what is happening at Watchtower. If someone has been at Bethel for more than a couple of years they are going to be aware of the child abuse issue, UN issue, financial lies, Billions in reserves, Etc. If you are a male serving at Bethel and over 30 you will also be an Elder, and no doubt have dealt with these issues directly or in your congregation.

As an ex-Bethelite serving in US congregations, I took heat from Circuit overseers and local elders for speaking out against Child Molesters, writing letters DIRECTLY to the Governing body, and taking cases to the State Police. I took heat for speaking up about financial fraud in the circuit. I was amazed at how indecisive, anemic, and weak some circuit overseers and MOST elders were when it was time to stand up for the most BASIC moral principles that most children would understand. There is too much fear of man in the Borg.

If someone is still tying their wagon to the Watchtower to support them, they deserve what they get. My 2 cents.

    BALAAMSASS2:

I tend to agree with your last statement even though some on here will not like it.

I also agree that there is ‘too much fear of man’ in the JW religion. People won’t stand up for their principles or what is right and wrong. They are fearful they will be criticized or be viewed as ‘independent thinkers’ OR God forbid an apostate! ..[ I saw fear of man taken to stupid levels in the congregation when an elder mispronounced a word and some stupid younger brother would repeat his mistake (well not me - I would raise my hand with a comment pronouncing the word correctly).]

I also hate to say this but I had heard that some bethelites made very derogatory remarks about responsible people in the workforce. When 9/11 happened and it was learned some JWs died - it was rumored that some bethelite/bethelites said “that’s what they get for not being out in the ministry” or words to that effect.. So, am I supposed to feel sorry for people that have a mentality like this?? Well, I don’t.. Not to mention, whose contributions did these geniuses think was supporting them in bethel??

Thanks for everybody’s great comments and a shout out to Reddit where I saw this.
