Blood decisions are now your problem: WT JULY 2025

"...We never told them what to do...it was their own choice...". This is their attitude toward everything now. The Governing bodies have always wanted authority without accountability. I'm sure this is why no specific instructions as to what to say in the ministry are given anymore. They don't want to be held accountable for anything individuals might say. As for the article quote, though specific to fractions, the rest says it all.. " Each Christian must make up his or her own mind...Making decisions like this are part of the load that each of us must carry...". I'm taking that as it's all On you, and Up to you...Pick and choose...Your decision.

It used to kill me, the old Awake articles on medical issues always had a footnote disclaimer that 'the publishers do not endorse or recommend any particular treatment' . Well neither should they have discouraged or forbidden any. Even the terms of use for the JW apps say they assume no liability or responsibility...does not constitute medical advice nor is a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment..."Reliance on any medical information is solely at your own risk" (!)...

There will be changes because they will realize that medical use of blood is not against God's law. God's law is only what is on Gen 9:4 and it can't be expanded beyond that.

Duran, they are lowering standards and making things more palatable for the people. They are just having a difficult time to figure out how to do that with blood. They are starting with fractions and working their way to the other components to whole blood.

The use of blood fractions being a ‘conscience matter’ has been JW policy for at least 35 years. See The Watchtower, 1 June 1990.

    raymond frantz:

Duran , if you noticed ,they never talk about blood transfusions anymore.

Nope. Meeting Workbook for January 2025 addresses blood transfusions, with a link to a video about transfusions. They wouldn’t be still pushing members to contact a HLC if everything were a ‘conscience matter’.

Lesson 39 of their current ‘Bible Study’ textbook specifically address blood transfusions, and is required subject matter for all new or prospective members.

The reduced language around transfusions is about PR, not a shift in practice.

Thirty years ago, when I was on my way from being PIMI to POMO, one of the things that disturbed me most was that had I been in a situation as a minor where a blood transfusion was necessary to save my life, both of my parents would have refused on my behalf and sacrificed me on the altar of the WTBTS.

By the time I was transitioning out of the Organization™, I already had my children, and was so grateful that I would never have to make that decision, because *THEIR LIVES* would have come first and foremost.

    Duran: "Nonsense!

"They are not backtracking on their blood view. This is about blood fractions.

"They still say NO whole blood or any 1 of the 4 components. WB-RB-plasma-platelets"

This! They haven't retracted a damned thing! The blood doctrine as it was a quarter of a century ago is still firmly in place. All fractions, no parts, no whole blood. They are simply reminding JWs who might have been reading on here or other places that the blood doctrine might be watered down, that it is still firmly in place. And JWs who know how to read between the lines are being reminded once more of their obligation to die for the cause if necessary. This is them affirming the doctrine while trying to look less controlling to governments. "Exercise your conscience", they say, out of one side of their mouth, and "The blood doctrine is still firmly in place!" out of the other. 🙄

Adding this: As I always say on this topic, I'll believe that the blood doctrine has changed when they disband the murderous HLCs. Until then, they can **** off! 😡🤬

This JW elder lost his life because of the ban on organ transplants. A few months later, WT finally said that organ transplants were a conscience matter. In other words, not a disfellowshipping offence. Now, no one even remembrers when the organ ban was, much less the people who died supporting the whims of some gb members.

Same thing will happen to the ban on blood, just a matter of time.

My sister was about 7 when she had a massive bleed and had to be taken to hospital. She needed a transfusion but being jw's, my parents said no.

One of the nursing staff told my mother that my sister was the closest they had ever seen anyone come to death and not actually die, her skin had turned grey.

Fast forward 20 years later and both my mother and sister had left 'the truth' anyway. Its all a joke.
