Oh Yes! I was a very talented basketball player in high school and they couldn’t understand why my parents wouldn’t let me play for them. Unfortunately, I would never know for sure that I will play in the NBA if they let me play basketball.

    Yep!

I was a 6'2" freshman in high school. I topped out at 6'4" as a senior. I really wanted to play football. But, of course, I couldn't. You can't teach size and I had that. I'm not saying that I would have gotten a full ride scholarship to a Division 1 school, but just based on my size alone, I may have gotten a look from a Division 3 school at least. Football was/is huge where I'm from with many colleges always scouting. Who knows?

I also eat healthy, hike, cycle, travel, etc. I've climbed to Machu Picchu in Peru, as well as Pike's Peak in Colorado.

Good for you! Every day that we take care of our health , enjoy nature, act grateful for what we have, value others, and KEEP GROWING we humiliate the Watchtower and their ideology of fear and slavery.

Our lives have meaning and value apart from the WT. Especially apart from the WT. If a former JW happens to be a believer, then there is even another slap in their face since they utterly hate Christians and always have.

@Biahi, yes! when I (ubm, never a jw) found out what they taught in a regular meeting regarding sex in general with all age groups & genders I was appalled to say the least. When I talked with others about it (all non jw) we all agreed it was an abuse of sorts or at least like exposing minors to illicit materials. I was outraged, needless to say I never allowed my kids to step foot in a kh for exactly that reason along with a million others.

jw's seem to think the competition part of sports is bad yet they seem to have their own sport or competition going on in my mind. Don't the men always want to get ahead in the org? isn't the goal to become an elder and they compete to reach that coveted goal? don't the women brag about pioneering and how many hours they get in and so forth?

I can't think of a more dismal religion to be in as a child. Some middle eastern ones would be worse I suppose but in the western modern world jw's are right up there.

    4. Wife Beaters (Elder Son)

    5. Wiccan Warloc (Elder Son)

    6. Alcoholic

    7. Another elder son was found in a dumptster (don't know the story here and don't want to)

    8. Sex-Offender (Elder Son) Sex with wife's 14 YO little sister

    9. Drug dealer (Ministerial Servant son)

Maybe they should have let their kids play sports and integrate into normal society... ya think?

Well, I don't think that I can say that I "missed" playing sports, when I was in junior high school or high school. A better question would be..."Do you REGRET not playing any sports while in school?" And, in answer to that I would say...NO. I don't regret not playing sports, while in school. I really don't You see, "sports", "athletic activities" were not important things in my life while growing up. They really weren't. I had classmates who were friends, who were student-athletes, who played football, basketball, track and field and other activities. And, I went to football games, or basketball games, etc, to watch the games. But, I don't regret not being part of the high school sports teams. I just don't. Best Regards, Everyone.....Titch.
