A preteen asked me , “did Jesus have a dog”?

I thought the question was hysterical. Why wouldn’t Jesus have a dog or pet cat or sheep? Jesus loved the animals. Maybe when he went from city to city he had man’s best friend with him??

    what do you think??🤓

If he had been dyslexic he would have. (Mt 27:46) But being perfect we kind of know he wasn't. (On the other hand, Hebrew is read from right to left. Nah, never mind ...)

Did Jesus pick his nose? Do you really think he walked around for years in that dry desert heat without cleaning house?

The serious answer is Jews considered dogs as scavengers, not pets. However there were the scrap eating dogs.

The human answer is e everyone loves puppies and kitties and they all go to heaven.

Leave it to a kid to contrast what we see with what we wish

I think someone should write a short story about Jesus and his puppy.

    Did Jesus Have a Dog?

Evidently, he did not. In these last days, many put undue emphasis on things like pets, in effect worshipping them. The Awake! magazine of 1/22, 1976, in the article "Enjoy Pets- IN THEIR PLACE!" says that some have given their animals . . .

gold bracelets, black lace panties, evening gowns and birthday parties . . . They have obtained clip-on diapers for their parrakeets, false eyelashes for their poodles and sunglasses for vacationing pets.

The article also mentions that a pet owner might . . .

permit himself to be “kissed” by a pet that had recently been licking its sexual and anal areas

Surely such actions are unbecoming of a mature christian.

i reckon a parrot would be more appropriate.

If Jesus really was a first century Jewish carpenter, I doubt he would have had a dog.

The Jews of the time considered dogs unclean, didn't they?

Here is an example of the type of dogs which live in Israel and Arab countries …

    ^^^ Beautiful, isn't he?

There's stories about Jesus and dogs in some apocryphal texts. Not having one but I think Judas is possessed by demons and Jesus casts them into a dog or something (that's... Pseudo-Matthew?). There's also a talking dog in the Acts of Peter, Peter makes the dog speak to Simon the sorcerer.

    Too funny.
